It really is thin.
Yum
Looks like the Pro version is slightly thicker, but has a 1080p (!) display.

Holy shit, both a uSD card slot and USB 3.0 on a tablet I am so hard right now :v:
mac OS X tablet, of course.

they renamed the old MS surface "PixelSense"
Apple won't ever do that. I literally see no way iOS and OSX can merge like that.

To be honest 1080p isn't impressive any more, but it's more than enough for a tablet realistically.
I mean can you imagine running a game at 2048x1536?
I am really concerned about battery life, both devices got really small batteries. I wonder what the power consumption will turn out to be.
As if laptops weren't small enough. The main demographic of slim computers is people who are too stupid to look at the dwarfed specs and buy them because "it looks futuristic."
i wonder if someone will eventually put windows 7 on it
Looks like the RT version uses mini HDMI while the Pro version uses DisplayPort. Makes sense.
IT departments are going to buy these in fucking palletes, the admins will LOVE them as if they were a gift from the heavens.
The main reason ipad still hasn't broken the business market is because you can't easily manage them so IT departments refuse to buy them. I speak as an IT admin and it drives us mental when a user brings an iOS device in and we have to fuck about for 20 minutes setting up the proxy settings and e-mails.
The intel version of Surface runs Windows 8 Pro. It can be domain joined, encrypted, supports group policy, everything.
User: "I want an iPad that we have to buy new software for and you cant remote manage"
IT Dept: "No, you are having a Surface that runs all the software we already have and can be micromanaged to the finest detail"

1080p on a 10 inch screen is more than enough, but maybe I'm just easily impressed. 1280x800 on a phone still boggles my mind.

Why would you want to do that? An older, less efficient version of the OS that's not designed for touch devices - on a touch device?

You can remote manage iOS devices?
As far as I've heard, IT departements loves iPhones/iPads.

because hurr metro is gei
The only thing that is really grinding my gears at the moment is the largest hard drive size available is in no way large enough to deal with the massive amounts of files I typically have on my laptop. Even 250GB would be a pretty huge stretch.
I hope they're not releasing prices because it's too expensive
they're releasing more ENTERTAINMENT.

If this is under $600 I believe that I may have found my new laptop.

here I'll spoil it for you: it won't be.

Let us dream, at least.
Oh god
What if this kills windows OS development designed for desktops and non-touch devices
Windows 8 is great for tablets, but tripe for desktops.

Did they release the touch-act delay for the screen?

Let's not think so narrow mindedly. The Pro is essentially a laptop, right?
Partition and dual boot.
I'm glad I delayed on buying a new laptop forever. Hope I got enough saved up to buy this instead.
