They are different, but are both not possible to change. Sexual orientation is not a crime for any deviation but are still a part of who they are. It was never implied that they are on the same level, just that they both cannot be changed.

You can't just generalise the people commiting these crimes. Pedophiles are not all extreme lusting after children, they just have an attraction to them. Not all pedophiles act on their desires and not all have an uncontrollable urge to do so, it is just what they are attracted to.

The day I read about a minor being labeled as a sex offender for having sex with another minor of the same age is the day I give up on America's sexually confused law system.

Contrary to popular belief, the age of consent in America isn't 18 nationally. It varies from 16-18 for each state. In fact, most states in the USA have 16 as the age of consent.
