In Pine Bush, New York, Jewish children are targets of antisemitism. Local mechanic on the Jews "We
To make this all clear, I live near Pine Bush and attend School there. Pine Bush is filled with several Red Necks and Hicks who are very rascist and anti semetic. Also in my town, Bloominburg, there was recently a scandal between the mayor wherehe allowed, without a vote(he was bribed) for a very costly and extensive development of condos to go up for hesitics. They also have bought out most of my town and are making a private school, which our taxes have to pay for even though we cannot attend, because "we are not Jewish". Basically the whole anti semetic thing is just a bunch of dumb rednecks, and agrivated citizens about our taxes being risen
Why is a private school being built with tax money?
and like, saying 'oh well, some people are racist because they got beaten up by black dudes' that's not understanding racism, and how is that something that can be fixed? it's giving reasoning to something which is by nature unreasonable
Except it isn't unreasonable, the end result (being racist) is illogical and unreasonable, but the chain of events that lead to someone being racist are...real and coherent. As people are a great deal the sum of their experiences, you can't simply say "it makes no sense" because you're saying that from a completely different perspective, but when someone has been going through the experiences that lead to racism their whole life, it makes absolute sense, and often they might not even think they're racist.
Much like how a Taliban member thinks he's a "freedom fighter" or something, a racist thinks he's just in what he believes, and just like how you can't blame a poorly raised kid for his actions, you can't blame a racist for the inescapable conclusion he was lead to. All we can do is educate them on how to escape these chains.
Why is a private school being built with tax money?
Because it is considered ito be part of the Pine Bush School Ditrict, which I attend, and so therefore the taxes of those living in the PBSD are having there taxes raised so they can build and maintain a new school, which no one other than Jewish people are allowed to attend. Everyone is just very frustrated
but saying shit like 'oh some hasidic jews hate all non jews' and shit like that isn't making others understand why it's wrong, it's providing some reasoning for why its RIGHT for some people. when it's never right. you don't understand racism or let people know racism is wrong by providing reasons why people might be racist.
Yes you do, if I learn why my friend Bob hates black people then I can more effectively teach him why those reasons are wrong, it attacks the problem at the source.

I'm just confused because I assumed private schools required private investment. If it's publicly funded you would think it would be public school.
If you fight against a person in an argument by never taking into consideration their thoughts, and just keep on yelling at them that "u r wrong u could never be right because i say so" then you will never get anywhere because your belief that your quote is correct is based on your already accepted beliefs, but the person you're arguing with would not take your quote very seriously, why would he?

As far as New York state cares it is I guess, but in actuallity is a private school. I literally live like just down the road from where they are building it, as well as the 396condos they are making for them

i'm not really saying this from a different perspective though, i'm saying it from the perspective of someone that used to be INCREDIBLY racist

yeah i get what you're saying actually. i'm still against people providing 'reasons' for why people are racist though it doesn't sit right with me

Really odd. Is it the administration or the community saying it's for Jews only? Either way it does sound pretty stupid.

Then why are you so unaccepting of racists? If you were once racist then you'd know how easy it is to get trapped into racist ignorance, and you would understand the importance of fighting racism at the source, and you'd know that being screamed at and being belittled for your beliefs is counter-productive...Unless you were convinced to not be racist by being insulted

I understand, but reasons doesn't mean reasonable. There were reasons for why the holocaust happened, there were reasons why slavery happened, but that doesn't mean they were reasonable. Understanding these reasons will give us the ability to identify and defeat them. You can't fight against an enemy you don't know.
Really odd. Is it the administration or the community saying it's for Jews only? Either way it does sound pretty stupid.
Its a little bit of both, basically there a couple thousand hesitics moving into my town and so far they have bought most of mainstreet and an ass load of houses going for about ten miles or so includeing an old fire station. From what I understand they are renovateing this old fore staion, completly, in order to make it a function school. The administration can't say its for Jews only or the feds would be on their ass, but its not even really even going to be under contorl of the PBCSD because they have bribed several county officials to keep their mouths shut. But this school is going to be nearly impossible for anyone who is not Jewish to attend.
I live only 20 or so minutes away from Pine Bush and after hearing PB students talk about this it seems that there is just a small group of low life "rednecks" who are causing all of this shit.

because i know that all my racism was based on being a ignorant dickhead. and i dunno, does knowing their 'reason' really change anything? i feel like i'd have the same argument as to why racism is stupid regardless of someones 'reason' for being racist.
Fuck, I was just saying the USA was less anti semitic in the other thread...
Goes to show that the people who think the holocaust reduced antisemitism are wrong.
[editline]10th November 2013[/editline]
Or is this antisemitism cause of Israel too??!!

That is exactly what it is no one else in PB has a problem with the Jews other than the Rednecks. But trust me there are a lot of rednecks in the area. And I mean a lot, also if I may ask where do you live?

It is just backwood Redneck Ideology, added with an ass load of pissed off tax payers

I live right in Warwick. We have a decent share of "rednecks" too and they are, for the most part, intolerant fucks that everybody just ignores.

The problem in Pine Bush is that there are a lot of somewhat lower and middle class people who are rednecks and it has become a trend around here, hell I live in a trailer park and I can say it is a Redneck Paradise full of Intolerance and all

Well then that means your argument is poorly conceived. Doesn't your "one size fits all" argument mean you generalize racists, and then, how does that make you any better than them?

Our redneck problem isn't nearly that bad. They are more just a group kids who wear overalls with no shirt or shoes then walk around school all day chewing hay then getting into their confederate flag coated trucks with stacks and doing burn outs.
For some of them it is just a phase and they are doing it to be "different" but most of them are actually just intolerant rednecks.

okay now you're just being ridiculous

Most rednecks here, have a confederate hat they wear everyday, drive a truck, smock weed, and do dip in school. I know one who is like 20 qnd still in the twelth grade, they too are all interolerent bastards
okay now you're just being ridiculous
Just because you don't agree with them doesn't mean they aren't also humans with thoughts and feelings just like anyone else. You can't just dehumanize racists and treat them like they don't deserve to be properly argued with or even treated with much respect.

i disagree that they deserve to be treated with respect, and i disagree with being able to properly argue with them, because racism is unreasonable at it's core. you can't properly argue against something that has no basis in reality. and no matter how much i generalize all racists i am not the same as them, because i'm generalizing them for the common belief that they can judge an entire race of people based on their skin colour/ethnic background.

If you are to treat Rascists like they are sub-human you are no better than them

You are no different from racists when you generalize racists, you may think their beliefs are wrong, but that doesn't give you the right to completely cast them aside as if they are barely worthy of your consideration, do you not see the parallels this sort of situation has with other situations where groups were discriminated against for their beliefs? I don't care how wrong you think they are, they are free to believe whatever they want as long as they don't hurt anyone, just like anyone else. While that may seem wrong to you, it's even more wrong to suggest we take away people's dignity because you don't agree with them.
If you are to treat Rascists like they are sub-human you are no better than them
not like sub humans, just like morons
not like sub humans, just like morons
So they are less intelligent than you, how is that any different from treating them like sub-humans?
not like sub humans, just like morons
Yes but you cant just go completly disregard them as people, or generalize them without being hypocrite
