Japan is now running out of workers as population ages and shrinks while economy declines

So in theory, in order for the average family to actually contribute to increasing the population, they would need to have atleast 4 children or so? Or would three be ok?
To be fair, a massive chunk of fans of those weird shit consist of non-japanese people. That's why there's english hentai/jav/whatever sites and people who are dedicated enough to translate them in the first place :v
Yeah, but that just shows how aware of it we are. Most foreigners don't buy Japanese porn, they pirate it, so there really isn't much reason for creators to cater to us.

More would be better but three average (per couple) would be a good start. 2 births average is a deficit due to the unfortunate reality of people dying before adulthood.
But that wouldn't solve their immediate crisis and would actually (in the short term) divert more of their resources to caring for the increased proportion of children, so either way they should probably relax their immigration policies or work out contracting deals with foreign firms that are willing to setup operations in japan to do work while having natives oversee their work to ensure they stay up to their national standards without having to try and integrate every individual worker into their culture and language. At least I imagine that would be a workable method to try and maintain their infrastructure at the very least.
Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm talking about and 99% of what I post is pure speculation on my part.
So when is the best time for me to move to Japan and form my own gaijin bosozoku gang?
ditch the stupid hairdos and count me in.
[sp]seriously though, this makes me sad to know; i have family there.[/sp]
So, why exactly is this happening?
Bundled with whats previously been said in the thread; Japan has basically commercialized sex.
So in theory, in order for the average family to actually contribute to increasing the population, they would need to have atleast 4 children or so? Or would three be ok?
even three kids would help in a demographic crisis like this(2 kids and you basically replace yourself, with a third kid you increase the population), but afaik the japanese aren't even having 1 kid so :v:
All this exceptional media culture Japan has, negatively affects both males and females, making them more complex and prone to loneliness due to unachievable sexual standards, as well as extremely unsatisfying communication they have between each other.
Japanese people decided to stop having children more or less. Fewer of them marry or get into relationships, and of those reduced numbers even fewer have children. They typically delay having children until later in life too, and prefer smaller families (especially because raising a child is difficult and the Japanese government/workplaces aren't the most flexible when it comes to people and their children). Japanese people look down heavily on children born out of wedlock too, which is a partially contributing factor.
A lot of social changes has produced a generally depressed attitude as well. A lot of people are reluctant to spend money, and no matter what the Japanese government tries their economic policies end up failing. Most of the money they stimulate the economy with ends up getting stuck in the hands of people who don't want to spend money and it's difficult to convince them otherwise. They've been mired in economic stagnation bordering on decline (and now de facto decline from this point on) because of the shrinking population that consumes less.
Japan could stabilize, but even under the best case scenario this is decades away. And then we have to consider that China next door is about to undergo Japans same problem in the next decade - albeit to a far worse degree.
So, basicaly, because japanese people are smart and don't do what kids in their early 20's usually do, which usually ends up in unwanted pregnancies that put strain on the family and its purse.

...no snake ladies to fuck, no marriage?
:v:
I'm just too much a pig for real Japanese women though. I did actually try with one but it didn't work out.
And apparently(don't quote me) we're overpopulated and have little to no available jobs in the US. Why not send some opportune English workers to learn Japanese and fill the gap?
I wonder why the sudden halt though. Its not like they all went "Welp I don't feel like having kids in my life!"
Not gonna help much, Japs are quite xenophobic and weary of foreigners.

I'm really not convinced by this explanation. There has always been strange porn in Japan, even if it has reached new levels recently. Additionally, we are seeing the same problems (occasionally, like in Taiwan and South Korea, even worse, but at an earlier stage) in the rest of developed East Asia. I think this is just a symptom of East Asian culture towards women, children and work combined with the effects of economic development upon birth rates.
The lack of proper maternity leave is terrible, a lot of companies are changing attitudes though. I work for a large company and it's modernising their work culture, allowing maternity leave and increasing intake of foreign staff. It still has that Japanese kinda paternalism and salaryman drinking culture and such. They've also moved to meritocratic managerial promotions rather than just grey hair at the top.

Pretty much, my company's also starting to push for men taking days off when their wife is pregnant/child is very young as well, as well as increasing full-time hires of people who aren't fresh-outta-college graduates. only problem is most of your bosses are from the old school of thought

this is such bullshit
also for all y'all people wondering if you can get a job here
if you don't want a job teaching english, you'll want minimum JLPT N1 level and decent understanding of japanese culture (i.e. have experience living there or staying for a decent length of time, knowing how to talk in polite form, etc.)
the solution is robots
That's pretty much the solution for every post-industrial nation 65+ years after a huge spike in birth rates.
the solution is robots
we're running out of people faster than we can replace them with robots
