i haven't heard about new vita games in over 3 months
[editline]6th August 2013[/editline]
then again there's LittleBigPlanet, so who needs other games
I find it hilarious that people are still developing titles for the PSP.
If this ends up being true, I will beat off in my shower
Isn't the Wii U's streaming tech based in both the console and controller? Unless the Vita has those same kind of streaming chips in it as the PS4, I foresee latency.
In any case, I don't think it'll be as big a part of the PS4 as it will the Wii U, as it won't be bundled with every system so devs can't absolutely rely on it being there as an integral part of their game. Sort of how like the PS4 Eye won't be a part of the system but the Kinect will for the Xbox One.
It is a requirement that all PS4 games be streamable to Vita.
It won't have any more lag than OnLive, or Gaikai, because all PS4's are basically Gaikai servers.
Vita's deader than WiiU, went into a used game store and they had an entire cabinet full of psp and two of dsi/3ds stuff, and like 2 shelfs of vita stuff, its dead jim, its dead....

I'm well aware of the "streamable to Vita" rule, I'm just worried about whether it'll match the GamePad. You gotta realize, the Wii U has virtually zero detectable latency, having been specially built from the ground up for it.
I know stuff like OnLive has gotten good, but can it match the Wii U's streaming tech?

The latency should be negligible when on the same router at least.

You would imagine that direct streaming between the two would mean a direct wireless connection, not through a router or something. That's how the Wii U does it. Unless Sony intends for that streaming to happen from anywhere as long as both systems have internet, and that would certainly increase latency. Especially considering that Vita can only connect through WiFi. And that worries me, because I've used stuff like OnLive through WiFi and it wasn't very good (granted, the laptop I was using it on only had a b/g card.)
Yes you can stream from anywhere in the world.

You can't call the vita dead, just because few games release for it doesn't mean it's gone. Sony is trying to make it popular again, this is how they do it.
Yes please.
I've been dying to get a both of them
If I didn't stick to the PC i'd buy that bundle.

It's not trying to be the WiiU. Jesus fuck why are you so obsessed comparing the two? The Vita is just going to allow remote play of PS4 games. It's not a peripheral, it's not something developers can just expect to be there.

The same reason people are comparing PS4 Eye and Kinect.
Two devices that both capture the image and movement of the user can be compared.
A game pad tablet designed with input in mind and an entire console with the ability to stream from another cannot.

So because they happen to both be listed on a Wikipedia page for sharing a feature the entire device can be compared?
I disagree.

The difference being that the Vita is its own separate console with streaming as a bonus feature, the game pad is just an accessory.

Oh, don't play dumb. They both can act as an auxilliary screen to the main screen, which carries the same gameplay implications for both of them: asymmetrical multiplayer, extra data, touch controls... I'm talking about their potential uses, not the underlying hardware. Outside of the tech relating to streaming, that is.
