First time i used firefox i got malware. No idea why it doesn't seem to be a bad browser but I'm so used to Opera i see no reason to swap.
If this was any other browser you guys would be like "loll bcuz it sux"
Another reason to go get Opera 10.50 http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2010/02/05/skin-fixes-unite-and-then-some There u go. [editline]11:11AM[/editline] There's been released new versions of Opera 10.50 every week the last month. I'm more inclined to think that it's because FF is popular.
lol 2% market share and falling [editline]05:06PM[/editline] I just switched to Chrome a couple of days ago. Firefox was just too damn slow and sticky, I kept going "fffuck this wouldn't happen in Chrome" so eventually I just did it. So far I like Chrome's speed and multiprocess architecture, it's so much smoother and quicker than FF, no freezing if you open too many tabs or you open a JS-intense page. Also I love that Greasemonkey userscripts are supported natively in Chrome, I went :O when I found that out. What I don't like is the lack of native RSS support (seriously Google WTF were you thinking this is 2010) and somewhat the lack of extensions (although there are a lot of good ones already - AdThwart is a port of Adblock Plus complete with filter lists). Oh and I like how extensions can be installed without restarting the browser. I think Chrome is still missing a few basic features though. Like RSS, I mean... come on.
Ironically there is a Google Chrome advert at the bottom.
i've encountered nothing malicious but there was a post on somethingawful that forced CS:S to open through firefox, that was kind of weird
Ironically there is a Google Chrome advert at the bottom.
Adblock?
lol 2% market share and falling
Lol cus market share is the same as quality. Oh wait. IE + Windows.

I wonder when chrome starts to get poked apart
FF and Safari might have more vulnerabilities than IE, but no one bothered to find them before.
Been using Opera for two years I am quite content. I honestly would be using Firefox, but I last.fm and stream a lot, and eventually Firefox just stuffs up my memory.
I used Chrome, but knowing that all of my data was sent to Google, I switched to FF and got a Chrome re-pack theme. Its nice. However FF freezes often.
Chrome sounds like it's on the road to becoming the best browser. Firefox seems to getting a little bit slower every month.
I use Opera. I enjoy the Speed Dial feature, along with a lot of the widgets. The security is not an issue with me. I'm not stupid enough to get a virus.
|- If you gave me one of these without explaining why, you're a Firefox/Chrome/Safari/IE-fanboy (or just contributing to page stretching). | | V
and you're the kind of faggot that cares about a small graphic on an internet forum
and you're the kind of faggot that cares about a small graphic on an internet forum
No I'm just trying to see how many of them I can get for one post. [editline]10:45PM[/editline] Hence the last part and the box fort. [editline]10:48PM[/editline] And you're the kind of faggot that think that ratings can't mean something btw. The "It's just pixels" argument is dumb. Mainly because the text and the images and the games you are playing also are pixels. It means something. It's normally something that represents the opinion of the people reading your post. In this case however, I really couldn't care if people think that I am dumb. It's just funny :)
obviously you DO care A) about ratings in general B) that people think you're dumb because you took the trouble to edit your post well after the fact just to note that you're getting a lot of meaningless ratings and that you don't care about them you reinforce my point by rating me dumb (notice I didn't do the same because I don't care and I've posted an actual reply to make it perfectly clear that I think you're a fucking idiot). I mean you've made it clear to me that you don't agree with me and you think I'm dumb and wrong, so why bother with the rating? Because you think that that little box icon is a mark of shame and I should feel bad for posting, and you hope that similar like-minded faggots will agree with you without actually contributing their own opinion and just keep adding on the boxes. If I get enough boxes I must feel as dumb as you want me to, right??
I read OP's article as 'Firefox addressed way more bugs and security flaws than IE in the first part of the year.' Am I wrong?
Meh, I'll just move on to something less commonly used/targeted like opera or chrome and then wait until some other company goes apeshit and makes a new browser and then just shift again to that new one.
Chrome will eventually take over. It's only a matter of time...
I used Firefox before, but it was too slow and crashed too many times for me,so i switched to Chrome, and I am happy with it.
Anyone who has Firefox crash frequently has something wrong on their end, as that most certainly isn't the norm. Most likely conflicting add-ons.
firefox + a few addons make a huge difference as in safety. I mean IE is still the dumbest thing to use.
-snip-
I recommend all Firefox users to at least get the NoScript and Web of Trust addons, you'll save yourself a damned lot of trouble. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3456 If you're paranoid about rogue software hijacks, get Adblock Plus. Great, even the stupid, technologically clueless idiots have finally switched away from IE. Now they're drawing viruses to Firefox. Assholes.
Great, even the stupid, technologically clueless idiots have finally switched away from IE. Now they're drawing viruses to Firefox. Assholes.
So it's a good idea to leave Firefox insecure?
I want to use chrome but first I need the following add-ons: 1. No Script 2. Web of Trust The above two addons make firefox 100% secure unless you manually allow scripts for individual websites/domains. It also prevents stupid bullshit like loud music playing etc that some websites force. The following addons are really helpful: 1. Skip-screen (skipps the wait times for stuff like megaupload and rapidshare) 2. Bug-me-not (allows you to bypass forced log-in screens if the addon has an account for that website listed in their database).
What about Chrome.
Never had any problems with chrome, and now it has AdBlock and Greasemonkey. I'm much happier with it then I was with Firefox. Firefox got very slow after a while. Chrome is open the second I click on it's icon.
I have Chrome on my laptop because it does run a bit faster but I still use FireFox on my desktop because I like all the addons and whatnot for it I've never had any issues with either
