I can never really understand how people can be so overwhelmingly in favour of guns being legal. I get that I'll probably be boxed to hell for this but seriously, they're just a silly thing to give to civilians.
But tbh the insane risk is worth it if it means I can post THE FIRST RULE OF GUN SAFETY every once in a while.
well, the way i figure it is if cops and army dudes can have guns then i should too. i don't trust them more than i trust me
I've shot guns before, and I still don't understand why.
It wasn't the most pleasant of experiences. I go stand in some wet forest aiming at things, making a lot of noise with a shotgun.
It was boring.
yeah except your idea of fun is indepth study of economics and the living conditions of the feudal age so maybe your idea of boring is different to other peoples
What were they killed with? I'm confused.
A semiautomatic rifle. An assault rifle has selective fire capabilities.
I posted this because he's leaving
Ok, the comment "Well off you go!" seemed to be addressing the people who are pro and against gun control on Facepunch.
It just didn't click well enough that you were referring to the article, not just predicting some gun argument.
Christ, whats with this no regulation vs absolute ban thing going on?
You're either an American or a communist.
Christ, whats with this no regulation vs absolute ban thing going on?
This is the problem: When the topic of gun regulations comes up, it's usually a follow up to a school shooting, or some incident that makes it open in the public eye. Most gun owners(including myself) go on the defensive with the mentality that an inch will give way to a mile. Take for example last year when they were going about passing or dropping legislation. Had we let any of those bits of legislation go, morale in the gun community would of been shattered, and the majority of the casual gun owners would give up hope, and abandon the cause for responsible and constitutional regulations.
Another thing to take note of is that gun owners have never got a legitmate compromise with gun regulations, it's always been give, give, and give some more... This comic is the best explanation:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/RbMFdIr.png[/t]
Most gun owners are tired of being reasonable, all we want is our damn cake back. We want to own almost any firearm with some sensible regulations like a revised NFA 1934(legal suppresors/short barreled shotguns/rifles plox), we want to be able to import firearms from all over the world without ridiculous import bans, we want to see firearm safety and use classes become something that is actually mandated by the US Education system and not something which is politically charged by the NRA.
I don't care about background checks, I care about people making regulations about things they have no goddamn clue about, and ruining several people's hobby.
A semiautomatic rifle. An assault rifle has selective fire capabilities.
To people who know nothing about guns: this means an assault rifle can fire fully automatic like a machine gun or one bullet per trigger pull like a regular rifle. These are very heavily regulated in the US, they need a special permit and can't be imported.
A semiautomatic rifle. An assault rifle has selective fire capabilities.
Not only that, but [del]didn't it turn out that the AR-15 in the school shooting was left in the trunk the whole time?[/del]*
I know that in the theater shooting it jammed up after a point and he used pistols.
*turns out I was wrong about that

It could also be burst fire.
The term machine gun in US law covers any weapon that can fire multiple shots with a single action of a single trigger mechanism, so that covers all assault rifles, submachine guns, light and general purpose machine guns, and also some multi-barreled weapons. And yes these are extremely tightly regulated.

But all that matters is that the gun used in Sandy Hook was a semi automatic rifle, NOT an assault rifle, and anyone who argues that the difference is negligible doesn't know what they're talking about

This is a myth. The gun wasn't left in the trunk. I haven't actually heard this said anywhere else but Facepunch, so I'm not sure how it got started.
It's speculated that the theater shooter's gun jammed because of the 100 round drum magazine he used.

I actually wonder why they want to limit magazine caps, if anything they should keep them as a school shooter prevention device. :v:

Drum mags are pretty shit from what I know.
And it was a shotgun that was left in his car, I think. He left some sort of long barreled weapon in there.
they're just a silly thing to give to civilians.
The average hobby shooter has far more experience with his own weapons that the average soldier.
I never really got the whole "army and police only" thing anyway - do you really think that policemen and soldiers are more level-headed and better trained than the average person? The number of completely irresponsible dickwheels in the military is absolutely staggering, and shootings by the police in the US basically cause an outrage a day.

do u get all worked up every time someone misuses a term for guns??
do u get all worked up every time someone misuses a term for guns??
You would be annoyed if someone kept calling a semi-truck a tractor? Because it's that big a difference.
do u get all worked up every time someone misuses a term for guns??
it's not just a misuse of a term, it's intentionally misleading
either that or this is a major radio personality with a political agenda, and he's rallying for legal action in an area of expertise that he has demonstrably very little knowledge about
A semiautomatic rifle. An assault rifle has selective fire capabilities.
-snip-, he's right about it being an Ar 15 I always thought it was a pistol
do u get all worked up every time someone misuses a term for guns??
Lol "misuses a term for guns" yeah just like how calling a bicycle a motorcycle is misusing a term for bikes
do u get all worked up every time someone misuses a term for guns??
it's a huge difference when it comes to banning them.
An automatic rifle can wipe out a diner full of people with little extra effort by a shooter, he just has to have a full magazine and hold down the trigger.
A semi automatic rifle must have its trigger pulled individually each shot, kind of a big difference.
do u get all worked up every time someone misuses a term for guns??
lmao i bet u'd be a bit but flustered if som1 got ur favorite dr who doctors all mixed up.

I'd be impressed if he managed to hit more than 5 people in said diner with a machine gun.
an automatic rifle can quickly annihilate a whole maternity-ward-full of defenseless newborn babies with enough ammunition, and semiautomatic rifles are generally used by humble hunting folk to feed their families
your post wasn't sensationalist enough
I wonder what Morgan thinks about Leland Yee, extreme anti-gun activist has been arrested for taking bribes, illegal gun trafficking, and ties to the chinese mafia.
He'd probably say something about Ad Hominem
your post wasn't sensationalist enough
thats more like it
I don't understand
why is everyone so mad that he's saying there should be restrictions on guns?
like I mean fuck that's a good thing?
I mean outright banning them is pretty ridiculous yes but a restriction on semi-auto and automatic firearms makes a lot of sense to me, living in a country where exactly that is the case and we have had a record 0 mass shootings in the 24 years since it was legislated.

a heavily christian first world country on land colonised by the british? idk seem pretty similar in composure. yes, new zealand is a far smaller scale but I mean fuck 24 years without a mass shooting as opposed to what, less than a year? Australia, a country with much more people and similar gun controls also has much much less mass shootings than america? maybe there is a correlation between owning guns and mass shootings after all!
I wonder what Morgan thinks about Leland Yee, extreme anti-gun activist has been arrested for taking bribes, illegal gun trafficking, and ties to the chinese mafia.
Clear proof that those liberals are all dirty China loving bastards.
maybe there is a correlation between owning guns and mass shootings after all!
I'm sure the US government will do a great job of enforcing gun prohibition. The US has a pretty unique culture so I think using better comparisons would make sense.
The Philippines and Venezuela are good examples. One goes pretty hands off and the other enforces a ridged ban. Both have pretty high gun crime but the Philippines still somehow has less.
a heavily christian
All mass-shootings were commited by extreme liberals or democrats. So yes dipshit it does have to do with culture. Or in this case "counter-culture" because hurrdurr christian republicans so evil

He left a Saiga 12 shotgun in the car.
