Not really, since the German victory was pretty much pyrrhic. I think we can maintain some pride in knowing that we messed up the German forces so badly to the extent that Hitler banned all further airborne assaults.

For instance, back a few years ago in Afganistan, Blue on Blue(Thats friendly fire) was recorded in the USMC and the US Army over 100 times...
For the British Army it was just little over 10...

Yes and no.
The British are made up of many different bloodlines because of the many different invasions and occupying foreigners who lived on the Isles. This is why the English language is such a mix of French, German and some Latin elements.

But that comes down to invasion and colonisation. The Norsemen and the Romens have invaided the UK so there now is no race for British for it got mixed long ago.
