• Chinese firm behind 'racist' detergent ad says foreign critics are 'too sensitive'
What's funny is us (A bunch of white facepunchers) are trying to tell everyone what is and isn't racist when the Black Guy who took the part in the chinese ad and was paid for it obviously didn't think TOO MUCH of it.
that says nothing though. could be he didn't mind it at all, could be he hated the idea but needed the money
??? I don't even know how to respond to this
No. I'm just making fun of the godawful trend of black people (such as yourself here) trying to tell me shit that is offensive isn't offensive and I'm just looking outrage.
a) You stereotyped bunch of people based on their skin color (both blacks and whites). b) I didn't force my opinion on anyone c) So just because you don't like it means nobody else is allowed to like it? d) Ad is made for Chinese market, so if we go by your logic, why does your American opinion matter?
I'm not going to let some random Serbian dude tell me as a black male in America what I should and should not be fuckin offended by, ok?
Seek help (or grow the fuck up, better yet do both)
that says nothing though. could be he didn't mind it at all, could be he hated the idea but needed the money
from what ive learned through extensive interaction with people of color (tm) over the internet, white people tend to blow this shit out of control
Playing with race like this is always hard to pull off without raising eyebrows. It's in pretty bad taste.
I don't think it's racist because in the Chinese ad, she wants white and she gets white, while in the Italian ad, she wants color and she gets color. You don't have to see some racist commentary behind it.
You're being so dishonest and ignoring my point on purpose, the Italian video shows whites as scrawny guys who transform into superior fit flexing black people and there is even outright text in the ad saying colored is better.
There's that. There's also the fact you blatantly ignored my question to further your agenda...
In that case, do you not agree both Ad's are atleast alittle racist? Or are you on the "Nope, the Chinese Ad is the only Racism I see here" Train?
Fact is, I definitely understand Racism. My sister was adopted from China and we live in Frogballs, Arkansas. So I hear alot of comments about "wimpy orientals" and that kind of shit because of ignorant people where I live. Alot of it I let slide unless it's directly meant towards my sister. The fact is Racism is never gonna die, If the entire white race was wiped off the planet and everyone was half black/half white (save for other minorities). We would still discriminate against someone who had a smaller nose or some bullshit. My point is, I'm less inclined to do anything about or be upset by this, a harmless mildly racist detergent ad then I am say, The Ku Klux Klan burning a cross in someone's yard or my best friend who's black getting lynched ya know? Pick your battles for fucks sake.
There's that. There's also the fact you blatantly ignored my question to further your agenda...
Lmfao what agenda, I literally don't care about this and your question is answerable just by looking at some posts made in this thread later on.
Lmfao what agenda, I literally don't care about this and your question is answerable just by looking at some posts made in this thread later on.
What? Not you. I meant RoflBurger. I like you
You're being so dishonest and ignoring my point on purpose, the Italian video shows whites as scrawny guys who transform into superior fit flexing black people and there is even outright text in the ad saying colored is better.
I didn't ignore your point, I didn't see it because you posted it before I wrote the reply. Stop being like this, please.
Is this a shitpost, or are there seriously people who classify posts based on poster's skin color? Would it matter if I was black and made that post?
You would have more credibility considering the skit is about them. It's like someone saying a joke at my expense, and you getting offended. I say I'm not offended in the slightest and you start complaining about how I don't have any more credibility than you.
And it blatantly states colored is better at the end.
If you're offended over someone saying that colored is better, then by all means you're allowed to be offended. It is saying that colored people are better than non-colored people. As a white person, I personally can't get offended over that so I couldn't care about the joke. There is outrage over this joke, so I'm discussing that.
Also does it seriously have to be about negroid race or did maybe, just maybe they pick the black guy coming out as white because those colors are contrasted and usually something dirty is a darker shade than something clean??
You're fooling yourself if you think that they picked the black guy because "oh contrasting colors". They picked it because they knew that it would cause controversy, and controversy brings in views. I believe that none of the people involved in the making of this idea actually believe that chinese people are better than black people, in fact I would be surprised if someone actually wanted to push that agenda.
why is it offensive something other than "a black person was in a comedic role in a foreign commercial" please
Context. Historical context to be exact. In America (as you should know), black people and other darker skinned folks have been called all kinds of dehumanizing things in reference to the color of their skins. Shitskins. Muds. Darkies. A thousand other insults I don't want to bring up. When people insinuate or outright use the "soap cleaning dark skin into 'white' or other more fair complexions" trope, you are saying that dark skin is something dirty, unnatural, something that needs to be cleaned. Even an idiot could see why this could make black people just a little uncomfortable or outright offended.
You would have more credibility considering the skit is about them. It's like someone saying a joke at my expense, and you getting offended. I say I'm not offended in the slightest and you start complaining about how I don't have any more credibility than you.
So if I find you a black guy who doesn't care about this, would that shut you up? Or maybe it doesn't matter after all because there are millions of people out there, regardless of their skin color. How do you know skit is about African-Americans and not some Africans? Just how much more credibility are you giving to someone just because they're black, even tho they are not related in any way to a commercial? It's literally just a skin color, there isn't any cultural trait attached to the ad.
If you're offended over someone saying that colored is better, then by all means you're allowed to be offended. It is saying that colored people are better than non-colored people. As a white person, I personally can't get offended over that so I couldn't care about the joke. There is outrage over this joke, so I'm discussing that.
Ugh how does someone actually function inside of a society if he gets triggered/offended by shit like this.
It is saying that colored people are better than non-colored people.
Or maybe it just suits the comedic theme the ad was aiming for, just like in the case of a black one? The point is that there isn't some world conspiracy against blacks, because there have been ads with white people being on the short end of the joke too, yet there is only ""outrage"" about the black one (spoiler: there isn't one and this whole discussion is stupid as hell as well).
Or maybe you're fooling yourself and are being paranoid by thinking this causes controversy. And even if we go by your logic, what's your point?
as a white I'm not going to let a black tell me I'm wrong as a black I'm not going to let a white tell me I'm wrong How about anyone can tell anyone else that they're wrong about anything and we judge their perspective on its merit rather than on the skin color/political affiliation/social class/nationality/religion of the person
Also for anyone saying "OH YOU HAVE AN AGENDA FOR IGNORING MY COMMENTS" I'm not, you guys just post snippets of arguments way too fast for me to keep track of. If I missed anyone's reply, tell me.
What's funny is us (A bunch of white facepunchers) are trying to tell everyone what is and isn't racist when the Black Guy who took the part in the chinese ad and was paid for it obviously didn't think TOO MUCH of it.
One black person can't speak for the rest of the black people, much like one white person can't speak for the rest of the white people, or black people for that matter. We're talking about it because a lot of people, presumably black, are offended over this commercial. That holds a lot of weight compared to one person who was compensated for doing this commercial. And what's depressingly ironic about your statement about how "White people telling white people what's offensive and what isn't" goes both ways. White people are telling white people that this is racist, and white people are telling white people that this isn't racist.
La la la I can't hear you. Dirty black man turned into a clean fair-skinned Asian? Racism, what racism? La la la. I agree with ROFLBURGER; the advertisers knew exactly what they were doing when they picked a black man for this ad and they're very scummy to play with race like this in a controversial way in order to market their product.
the commercial people are getting offended over the commercial it was copied from that nobody got offended over
One mans trash is another mans treasure
but this ad is from China How is American history in any way relevant
Didn't you know? America is the only thing that matters in the world.
Didn't you know? America is the only thing that matters in the world.
Hey, I wont have your Danish shitposting ass telling me what matters in the world, ok?
Hey, I wont have your Danish shitposting ass telling me what matters in the world, ok?
There's only one thing I hate in the world more than racism and that is The Dutch
so somehow it's not racist if a white guy is turned black with the subtitle "COLORED IS BETTER" but it's racist if a black guy is turned chinese yeah ok
I know you're desperate for zingers and all but I think that ad is also in poor taste.
I dont think its that racist, but it is still a little bit racist. they wouldnt put a black guy being changed to a fair skinned chinese guy in there, like that, for something that advertises detergent (a water-soluble cleansing agent that combines with impurities and dirt to make them more soluble) if they didnt want it to be some form of dry humor/racism. thats just how it is. its the same way with the italian ad, I think thats a bit racially insensitive as well. saying that nobody got offended by the italian one is a bit odd considering it has a good amount more downvotes than upvotes on youtube.
I agree that people need to lighten up lol I'm black and alot of us find it hilarious except those niggas who get mad at shit like white people with corn rows/dreads. Also...Its from china like they aren't losing business from other countries who are mad . I honestly doubt Chinese people care either.
There's only one thing I hate in the world more than racism and that is The Dutch
But he's Danish
I know you're desperate for zingers and all but I think that ad is also in poor taste.
I don't give a shit about ratings, nice one trying to discredit opposing opinions with a cheap cop-out like that
I don't give a shit about ratings, nice one trying to discredit opposing opinions with a cheap cop-out like that
Well at least I don't make up an opposing opinion like you did with me :)
Well at least I don't make up an opposing opinion like you did with me :)
What does this even mean? Is this the part where you descend into manic shitposting?
I know you're desperate for zingers and all but I think that ad is also in poor taste.
More than the other one? Because it's exactly as racist as the other ad, maybe even more so. [editline]29th May 2016[/editline] Oh, is he trying to enable white guilt?
