They are veteran politicians, they talk to, or should be talking to their backbenchers in order to know their own party. There's no way they wouldn't have know this was going to happen, and if they didn't know it was going to happen then they are incompetent.
They made promises that they knew, or should have known they were not going to be able to keep. That's called a lie.
To be honest I'd be more surprised if the Scots didn't have a good old riot after the vote.

These stupid cunts have completely spoiled the end of a fascinating period in the life of Scottish people. They have stolen headlines off the vote result and turned it into something 99% of Scotland will agree is ignorant, childish and disgusting. As much as I'm devastated that No won, I feel sorry for those that voted no that wanted to genuinely celebrate tonight.
Call me bias, but I believe if Yes had won, there would be 10x the amount of people and 100000x the amount of brain cells to have a peaceful celebration (can't rule out the minority burning a flag or two).
Yes, a [I]celebration[/I], not a fucking excuse to cause trouble.
