Not okay, Brother: WWE scrubs away Hulk Hogan from their history completely

Of course they won't release it, Gawker is trying to run a smear campaign before the trial for bias, and if it isn't much it'll go away. They'll keep hyping it up as much as they can.
I like how someone like Michael Vick, who obstructed justice during years of torturing dogs and he's able to come back to NFL after "paying his debt".
And now Hulk Hogan says something in a private conversation and he's the antichrist.
There's no way they can go full Benoit. Hogan's a huge part of their history.
They just did.
They just did.
I meant editing all of those years worth of Hogan footage to remove mentions and matches in both WWF/E and WCW.
Then again these days WWE uses a disclaimer with Benoit footage so they probably will do that

In private. 4-8 years ago. Has even apologized for it before.
But in the new wave of social justice taking over the internet, everyone is up in arms again over it despite what I just mentioned.
I really fucking hate Gawker Media...
This isn't really a big deal. We've all said something racist at one point.
Woah there cowboy. Speak for yourself.
Woah there cowboy. Speak for yourself.
Yes, even when you were little saying "Mommy, why does that person have different skin?" is racist.
Come to think of it, even being a white person is racist, just like being a man is sexist.
Racial slurs aren't even a big deal. Fuck you Gawkfucks.
Racial slurs aren't even a big deal. Fuck you Gawkfucks.
Even if they weren't (they are, though I'll admit I use them in jest fairly often) what he (allegedly) said is racist as shit in itself. He's basically saying he really doesn't like black people, and he wouldn't want his daughter to be with one - the use of "nigger" becomes fairly irrelevant in comparison.

Wrestling is fake. Their whole job is to represent the WWE as public figures. If they're racist that's absolutely grounds to lose their job.

yeah, we should get a bit of perspective on this crap sometimes.
yeah, we should get a bit of perspective on this crap sometimes.
The perspective is that the WWE and the NFL are entirely separate organizations, run by completely different people, with very different public images. The NFL has done a significantly worse job of maintaining their reputation than the WWE has.

I have the feeling you distinctly didn't get the point.
You can't even download the Hulkster DLC for the latest game anymore, even if you own the fucking thing.

If your point was that the general public has hypocritically forgiven Vick I'd argue that you're wrong. He still catches a lot of flak and it's not hard at all to find people suggesting that the NFL should never have let him back.
The Gawker network as a whole is such a disgusting pile of excrement that I don't even care any more that some of its sites occasionally post decent, informative stuff. The whole thing needs to be scrubbed from existence for the benefit of humankind.
Also the same network responsible for the whole "Gaming is dead" tirade.
Maybe we can get some decent video game journalism for a change when gawker's dead and gone.

The things you say in confidence aren't always genuine. When drunk or vulnerable or desperate, you can say some terrible shit. You'll reach for the harshest and dirtiest words you can wrap your mouth around in some situations.
If I have the story right, the things being used to damn Hogan came from a private conversation where Bubba's wife was goading him into saying shit because she knew everything was being recorded. And they were leaked from the court room.
This whole thing is a fucking mess.
Do you remember when Stevie Richards slammed the 700lb Andre The Giant in front of the 200,000 Steveamaniacs dude?

they should have just let axelmania replace hulkamania.
do you remember when Curtis axel slammed the 1000lb andre the giant in front of 200,000,000 raving axelmaniacs brother. ive not been eliminated from any royal rumbles ever dude all 10 ive been in
Eeeh, I don't think they should remove him like that. I mean a title is a title. You can honor his progress through WWE without necessarily honoring his opinions.
I really don't like what he said, but apart from it being said a while ago, it was said in the most private situation and there's no reported times when he actually acted against someone because of race (surely it would have been picked up straight off)
Scrubbing him from WWE history is the best course for now but should there not be an opportunity for him to redeem himself

Hulk Hogan DLC has been removed from WWE 2K15.
I still don't even get why this is as big of a thing as it is. Some dude said a bad word, in a non-racist context, in private, nearly a decade ago.
Are we really going to start digging up graveyards just to dump a little more dirt on the poor dude? Still wishing him best of luck with his final fight.
has there really been any noticeable negative response to this? I haven't seen anyone but the iron shiek calling for hogan's head on a platter

Uh, what's your idea of a non-racst context?
has there really been any noticeable negative response to this? I haven't seen anyone but the iron shiek calling for hogan's head on a platter
Yeah but Iron Shiek calls for EVERYONE's heads on a platter.
He's also on record for saying, and i quote, he will "Put Hulk Hogan in the Camel Clutch. Fuck him in the ASS, and make him HUMBLE"

yeah, which is why this seems blown way out of proportion by the wwe
like even more so than usual

TBF Iron Sheik is always calling for someone's head on a platter.

Okay, who is ready to picket outside of the WWE headquarters?
Y'know; I never really followed the Iron Sheik on social media, but I always heard that he was... amusingly colorful when off the clock. So I went to look up some more about him.

First impression: Holy hell they were so right this is great.
Second impression: He's totally going to be next on the chopping block. If the Hulkster gets no mercy, the guy he beat up to show how awesome 'merica was is going to get negative mercy.

Upon a little more research, it seems like a good deal of the well known hall-of-famers have something that could earn them an unpersoning now. Jake the Snake has been charged with animal abuse (he let his python starve to death), Ultimate Warrior hated gays and "towel heads", Stone Cold Steve Austin beat his wife... oddly enough, the superstar with the cleanest history seems to be Ted DiBiase of all people.
