Am I the only one who wouldn't go insane in solitary confinement. Even for so long? It's odd but I like enclosed spaces. Hell, the worse that would happen to me is a severe and painful case of extreme boredom. Rate me dumb but 15.5 Mil for 2 years is pretty damn good if you ask me.
If you've never been in an enclosed space for weeks, you can't say you'll be fine for two fucking years with shitty food and no showers. Almost anyone would be ruined mentally by such an experience.
When i was 12 i was stuck in a well for 5 days, true story, it was like 30 meters deep, if it had no water i wouldn't be here today, i was crying and i heard a dog barking, so i yelled and an old lady found me he deserves triple the money that he got
Was the dog a Rough Collie by any chance?
what you people don't understand is you think you can spend hours in your room glued to the computer and think solitary wouldn't be all that different, but it is. your PC is an endless stream of distractions. that's why time flies when you're on it. the room you're in is also your room. it's comfortable, warm, homey, familiar, etc. when you're left alone however, in a very cold, dark room with no distractions of any kind your mind starts to run wild. you're "bored" the first hour. but the next you'll start to lose your fucking mind not to mention the next day. you think "well hey maybe i'll just sleep. i love sleeping" so you do nothing but sleep for a week, now you're bored of sleep. so what do you do? you think - hey maybe i'll start exercising, might as well make myself useful while i'm in here. but you can't. you haven't got the energy. the food is atrocious and just barely keeps your stomach full. so you sit. and you wait. and you wait some more. pretty soon you'll start hallucinating. you won't be able to sleep. your mind will start to break down. you're all over the place. you'll start questioning fucking everything. you'll start asking questions which can't be answered. you'll become a loony and you won't even notice it. this all happens in the first 2-3 weeks. this guy was there for 2 years. none of you would last so much as half a week. solitary breaks everyone. some a little sooner, some later. but eventually everyone cracks.
The boredom is easy to deal with. After a few hours you learn to make cards out of toilet paper and play solitaire or make a dartboard with wet toilet paper and spitwads. The worst part of solitary is the complete deprivation of all social interactivity. I remember after 48 hours I would get massively excited at the sound of footsteps in the hallway just for the chance that the CO would be stopping at my door for any reason or if you put your ear near the gap in the food tray on the door you could sometimes hear the COs chatting to each other or talking on the phone. Besides getting fed through a slot in the door that's all the human interaction you'd get, it fuckin sucked. To make matters worse the only book they gave me was Antwon Fisher. Pure torture.
What I don't understand is how they managed to do this, it can't be an accidental since they must've fed him otherwise he'd be dead, so they intentionally just let him rot until they finally decided to let him out?
This is one of my biggest fears. Fucking horrifying how a simple error could end up causing this traumatic experience to happen. I hope he hasn't been completely broken by this.

Holy fuck. Poor guy.
And this is why I treat cops like plague rats. Any one of them could ruin your entire life or kill you on a whim and get away with it.
"i've not seen my son for 5 days, oh well i'm sure he's fine"
obviously they were looking for me [editline]7th March 2013[/editline]
Was the dog a Rough Collie by any chance?
It was a perdigueiro, a hunting dog i think
hahaha lol xd, get it, because people spend time on the internet they obviously are shut in the basement with literally no lives lol xdxd!!!!!
are you so insecure about social life that you can't take a joke about it
are you so insecure about social life that you can't take a joke about it
Wow you showed me
Wow you showed me
Stop being so edgy with your responses, you're scaring the kids.
Holy fuck. Poor guy.
Not that poor anymore ;)

How the fuck do you forget a prisoner [editline]7th March 2013[/editline]
When i was 12 i was stuck in a well for 5 days, true story, it was like 30 meters deep, if it had no water i wouldn't be here today, i was crying and i heard a dog barking, so i yelled and an old lady found me he deserves triple the money that he got
Timmy's in the well
Give me a good bed and i'd do weeks of solitary with no problem.
yea no. do you even have any idea how it fucks you up mentally to be in solitary [editline]7th March 2013[/editline]
Am I the only one who wouldn't go insane in solitary confinement. Say what you want about the horrors of solitary, but humans are good at adapting to certain situations. I'd imagine the first month was a slow descent into hell, which then slowed into general acceptance of his circumstances, no matter the level of mental sanity at the time. And now, I think he will slowly adapt to normal life again. He lost two years of his life, but $15.5m is a large sum of money. Hopefully it will go a long way towards making up for his lost time, and hopefully he can re-adapt to his re-found circumstances.
And this is why I treat cops like plague rats. Any one of them could ruin your entire life or kill you on a whim and get away with it.
Not sure if satire or genuine. You're judging an entire group based on a few negative instances while ignoring all the positive ones (of which there are many more which aren't reported as often because they aren't sensationalist enough)?
Wow you showed me
Really, just stop. What're you even doing anymore.
Not sure if satire or genuine. You're judging an entire group based on a few negative instances while ignoring all the positive ones (of which there are many more which aren't reported as often because they aren't sensationalist enough)?
he's not judging anything, he's just saying any cop can ruin your life if they wanted which they can
he's not judging anything, he's just saying any cop can ruin your life if they wanted which they can
Except that he is by saying:
And this is why I treat cops like plague rats. Any one of them could ruin your entire life or kill you on a whim and get away with it.
So based on this story "this is why I treat cops like plague rats", aka judgement. Yes I agree that any cop could potentially ruin your life, no I don't agree that you should treat them like "plague rats" based on that potential.
How the fuck do you just forget a guy is in solitary
How the fuck do you just forget a guy is in solitary
the scary thing is he had no idea how long he was gonna be locked up that would be terrifying
How about we put the people responsible for this mess in prison?
No, that's vengeance rather than justice. We're trying to not be barbarians any more.

You think I'm some dumbass who assumes solitary confinement is the same as sitting in a room enjoying yourself and being able to leave whenever. I know the reality. Solitary confinement is a deep, dark, dank, and confined cell that offers little to no human interaction and very shitty living accommodations. Perhaps it's unwise of me to overestimate my sanity lasting for 2 years, but I'd be able to keep myself occupied is what I'm saying. I'm sorry if I made you think I was trying to sound like some bad ass.

Now imagine that length of time of basically having nothing except the 6 walls of your cell and barely enough food to survive, with pretty much no human contact. Your mind will keep you occupied by going mad.
