They better redesign all the dollar bills. givem at least some color and more awesome motivs atleast
Naw man it's gotta be green, green, green.
Id rather have Michelle Obama in the 20 just to piss everyone off.
isn't jackson's portrait on the bill itself insulting because he was opposed to the national banking system in the first place?
Fuck Americans, put Ada Lovelace on the $20.
not american though, she's french
Why an abolitionist? I thought the Abolition was, like, a really bad thing for the USA?
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
Put Hedy Lamarr on it. Amazing actor and helped to invent what became Wi-Fi.
I sincerely hope to God you're talking about Prohibition.
On that note, can we replace Grant on the 50 with good old Teddy Roosevelt?

iirc he also paid off all our national debt and bankrupt the entire country.
He was a shit president.
"People complained at us so we made one of our money faces a lady face. Take that, MRAs!"
How about no.
All though Jackson was a right cunt, most of his attitude towards the banking system and assassination attempts redeems him :v:
I'm actually fine with him not being on it.
It's like back when Jefferson had the 2 dollar bill (well he's still got coin), you're really going to put people opposed to a central bank on your central bank notes? Sounds like a big "fuck you" to them and their legacy.
"To follow to the tomb the last of his race and tread on the graves of extinct nations excite melancholy reflections. But true philanthropy reconciles the mind to these vicissitudes as it does to the extinction of one generation to make room for another."
wouldn't wipe my ass with Jackson

i mean i wouldn't either, $20 is expensive TP
Now they complain that there is no woman on printed money, but if it was, they would complain about woman being objectified as something everybody wants: money. Being hunted and collected like prey.
I wouldn't mind having a less genocidal figure on the 20s. All things considered Tubman's not too bad of a figure for it either.
i mean i wouldn't either, $20 is expensive TP
that's one expensive shit if you have to wipe thrice
While we're at it why don't we put Richard Nixon on the $5 bill and Jefferson Davis on the $1 bill
While we're at it why don't we put Richard Nixon on the $5 bill and Jefferson Davis on the $1 bill
gerald ford should be on a bill so we can immortalize the only president to not be elected to his position in any way
Now they complain that there is no woman on printed money, but if it was, they would complain about woman being objectified as something everybody wants: money. Being hunted and collected like prey.
no they wouldn't lol
Yeah honestly Jackson was a shit president who didn't do much good. While I would prefer if we were to choose between Eleanor Roosevelt and Tubman, I'd go with Roosevelt but Tubman still wouldn't be all that bad of a choice.
Put Zimmerman on it.
In general, our dollar bills look pretty lame compared to other countries tbh.
Andrew "Shoot those faces at ten paces" Jackson may not entirely deserve to be on our most ubiquitous bill, but some random black women who saved a couple slaves when the Slavery Debate was already raging something fierce seems like one of those token "look how tolerant we are" gestures.
..... Random black woman???
What are they teaching people in schools these days I'm pretty curious.

Pick someone who deserves it, seriously.
but she was super rad though? she personally saved way way more than "a couple" slaves and indirectly saved at least several hundred, both while having numerous bounties on her head, and considering she had frequently debilitating brain damage while doing everything she did i'd say those are some pretty hardcore accomplishments. i'm not necessarily saying she should be on the bill, but the recognition of an unambiguously dedicated and courageous folk hero isn't "political correctness gone mad" just because she happened to be a black woman.
Put Zimmerman on it.
Dont be silly, Casey Anthony is clearly a better candidate from Florida
I always thought this movement was rather silly. They want to put a woman on a bill by taking one of the men off. Why not keep all the current designs, but make a version of each bill with a woman on it? Like, every time you'd update a bill alternate between the two individuals.
Bills update every 13-15 years or so, which means we're coming up on the 20 bill's next update soon. So put Tubman on it, and then after another 13-15 years when its time to update again, put Jackson on it again. This way you can have multiple women represented on legal tender instead of doing this token representative and removing Jackson who's held his place on the bill for nearly 100 years.
There's some cool ladies in history that deserve a spot on bills. My vote's for Grace Hopper.
Christ, it seems like anything historical has to be 'revised' to suit someone's agenda.
This isn't revision, this is just changing what's on a bill. Why is this such a big deal? I'm not saying it necessarily should or shouldn't happen, but revisionism implies changing what's written happened in history, which has nothing to do with this at all.
Jefferson Davis on the $1 bill
I'm down for that
Impeach Lincoln 2015
Putting Jackson on money is like putting this guy on money.
Lol even their hair looks the same.
For those of you who are saying it should have been Eleanor Roosevelt, the decision process started with several famous American women and people were able to vote for them online. It came down to four candidates in a final round, and Harriet Tubman just barely beat Eleanor Roosevelt.
I do agree that Roosevelt may be a better choice and I was surprised by the choice of Tubman, but Harriet Tubman was still a very important and influential woman in American history.
Really the biggest complaint I can come up with for this is that we already have an abolitionist figure on a piece of paper currency, Lincoln on the $5, maybe a figure from a more recent era would be more interesting, we have four bills of founding figures, Jackson from the early 19th century, and two of civil war figures, maybe one of someone from the 20th century (kind of appropriate to give them the 20), so I guess I'd rather have Eleanor Roosevelt.
