Especially if it were an accident. Would be like a 20 second (or however long) 'oh shit' moment. That feeling when you lose your footing or fall off a bike, perpetuated as you accept death.
Have you ever been up in a high place and lost your footing and nearly fell? That is some of the worst dread I've ever had and imagining it lasting for sevreal seconds as I fall seems like a nightmare.
I guess he didn't really make much of an impression in life.
I'm sure he left an impression on the road.

A person who is most certain about his will to die would still be scared if his sanity is still intact, but not in that manner seeing as falling is what he wants there.
No one can achieve feats of this height.
I wish I could die like a viking in battle, even a gunfight, because dying any other way seems so horrible.
Open ocean til you're exhausted and can't swim, then subsequently drowning? god no.

if there are no nerves then there is no pain
it isnt like your brain can magically tell when your body being devastated, it requires nerves to send signals to the brain

i hear drowning is actually one of the best ways to die, its incredibly peaceful
How high do you even have to be just to do something like that?

At first your body is in panic due to the lack of air but you overcome that quickly.
Again, take into account that if a person is suicidal, while his body may still be against it, his initial will is to die.

I'm sure being eviscerated is so much better than drowning. Or slowly bleeding out after a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Video/Pics?
I think burning to death is worse.
Well, there was that one guy recently who climbed a bridge, set himself on fire, and after being alight for about half a minute jumped off.
Best (if you can call it that) of both worlds?

Reminds me of the guy who lit himself and fell out of his window, the animated gif of that video was posted a few times in LMAO pics.
I think the most painless way to go off would be overdosing on sleeping pills. Given that it would actually work though, and in many cases it doesn't.
well, first in a long line of people
I don't know whether to be sad or impressed.
Both.
It's sad that he died, but it's still cool that he did it in a way people would know.

keep in mind all the adrenaline that would be flowing, and the red wall of rage anyone gets during a fight. It's not like, "hurr badass bullets don't hurt" but more like the strive to press on against your foe. It's kind of exciting to be pushed like that
The worst way to die would be to be captive in a 90 year old's basement as he cuts you with razors and pours salt and lemon juice on the wounds, raping you anally and much other physical abuse until you're an emotionless shell, no feeling at all. Then he smashes all your fingers, toes, and genitalia with a sledgehammer. He then slices you up, small cuts, and tosses you into a vat of salt water and lemon juice to drown.

Just kick him in the shin and he's down for the count
And how on earth is he going to lift a sledgehammer
i bet it's some sketchy shit and he was thrown off by someone.

I wonder how long it would take for him to fall all 147 stories.

Free fall acceleration is 9.8 m/s
The height of the highest floor is 621.3 meters
You might also need to take into consideration terminal velocity and air friction(and in that, consider was his body pose).
I forgot basic physics and the formula to calculate free falling objects.
I have to wonder what would drive a man to suicide like that. What's interesting here is the combination of death and spectacle. I get how the common causes of suicide work, but usually the time leading up to the event is lonely. The person serenely says goodbye to the world and just goes. The huge spectacles beforehand (Screaming "I hate you, I'm going to kill myself") almost never lead to suicide. Though that may be due to the fact that those are easy to detect...

d = Vot + 1/2at^2
so about 11 seconds, without air resistance.

What would be his final speed?(prior to 0)
Calculate the distance he falls before he hits terminal velocity, then calculate the time it took to get to that point.
Then subtract that distance you got from the distance of the total tower and calculate the time it takes to fall that distance at terminal velocity (t = d/s).
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
One sec. Let me look up the terminal velocity of a human.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
14.1 seconds (baring any stupid arithmetic errors (and ignoring drag). Basing that on a terminal velocity of 55m/s (which it is roughly according to wikipedia).
Ants would be the worst way to die. Don't believe me? Watch that video of driver ants tearing a crab into tiny chunks.

Would have been helpful to provide that.
Worst way to go in my opinion is slowly bleeding to death.
