Yeah, I doubt any govt. would actually go through with something like that

Not yet, give it an election cycle or two.
Not yet, give it an election cycle or two.
Dunno, the EU would probably threaten them enough to prevent it.
I just love these neo socialist people warriors who blatantly doesn't give two fucks about the facts provided and just keeps on thread shitting and/or attacks people with different views.
People like these really makes me appreciate the freedom and minds to challenge and see the facts for what it is, instead of just thinking about "morals" or "white guilt"
One thing to think about. If citizens can have a waiting period of up to 1 year or even more IIRC to be able to get on a list to have an apartment in Holland; it can't be that far off an idea to think it might take an unknown/considerable amount of time to figure out housing/asylum status for people who are only just starting their path down becoming citizens of the country (and not all of the refugee's plan to stay, anyways). Especially with the massive undertaking of bringing large amounts of people into a dense area
Kudos to all the people that volunteer at these places to try and make a difference, because I'm guessing the pay isn't amazing
God I wish that it was just one year.
My town has pretty much a 10-year waiting list for young adults to be able to rent a house or even a small apartement for themselves at this point.

This information makes the complaints of the immigrants look even more abhorrent.
Frankly, I do feel bad for those refugees who are stuck in this situation. I do not feel bad for those who decided to use the war as an excuse to migrate for monetary reasons.
There needs to be a level playing field. To put immigrants in priority when there is already not enough resources to go around is shooting yourself in the foot as a country as far as I'm concerned.
It would be funny to post a fake printed ID with the name 420BootyWizard, or something equally ridiculous. Time stamped piece of paper in the picture with a note along the lines of "Garry sucks" for extra authenticity points. Proves the ID is easily faked. Even then, unless we know what the style guidelines for the ID is, there's nothing stopping anyone from coming up with something generic and claiming that it's real. Short of and independent source who is known to work at the same place confirming the design and layout of the ID, it's pure speculation regardless.
TL;DR anyone seriously asking for the ID is either legitimately fucking stupid, or out on a witch hunt. Neither one is a legitimate reason for this person to risk exposing themselves.
Wow
Europe made an Argentine decision. How awful.
Allah is great brothers, until we got to get ourselves our monies, then, it's all or nothing.

it's completely irrelevant to the topic of discussion, he brought it up in the first place solely because people were attacking his character. [...]
I think that's a fair thing to do in this case, though.
Rumbler more or less constantly misrepresents news just short of a factual lie, and tends to go "[no your statistical source is wrong because I have these single incidents!]" quite often.
It's very clear they have ulterior motives for posting here that they don't want to own up to, which to be fair may be something mostly harmless like "[I don't want more refugees to come here, regardless of the predominant values of my culture.]".
At least I personally would take a lot more kindly to their posts in this forum if I didn't get the impression they were blame-shifting with every second sentence. I'm completely fine with (and sometimes appreciate) being disagreed with as long as the argument to that end is truthful (and not just barely not a lie). It's too much of a chore to argue with someone who's not trying to reach a consensus other than their own exact opinion and is intentionally obtuse about that.
Hey guys
I got a business
You grab by the neck any prick who steals, and send him off to la patagonia where we will put him to pick stones or cut trees. We gain more natural resources at a lower price and everyone benefits. THe little pricks avoid war and death, you avoid apricks and we got them monies.
It amazes me how anti-refugee facepunch is. Beggars can't be choosers isnt a valid excuse for the people who are literally running from war in foreign countries. There's a standard of treatment people expect, and living in a literal tent camp may put the refugees on edge especially considering that they've already spent quite a lot of time in them already. When anyone doesnt receive frequent care medically or economically things like these protests happen. Perhaps the Netherlands should look into sending more doctors or military doctors to these camps to help alleviate the sickness.
Of course I'm viewing all of this from the outside and realize that its not so simple to just do that, but its a solution nonetheless.
lmao too bad dude they're sitting there for literally free. They're not entitled to it.
If they want to leave, they can.
They're given acceptable living conditions, for free, and if they want to get something better they can fucking work for it.
Hello Cypher, I'll gladly point you to the form that I used to enter into volunteerwork:
http://noodopvang.stipnijmegen.nl/contact/
Fill out this form (which I used too), leave an emailadress and a phonenumber and you will be called and/or emailed.
Please give a clear timeperiod in which you'd be available, and specify with which work you are comfortable but please take into account it might take some time before they respond.
We have many volunteers at the moment, and a lot of people are writing in that they want to organize events to help pass the time.
You are very welcome to come help the refugees, and at the same time verify that what I'm saying is true.
Please post in this topic if you've had a message back. I'm very curious to see if you're actually going to do this, or if you're bluffing.
We might even be able to meet up there if it's either a Saturday or a Sunday in the coming two weeks.
Will gladly hear from you regarding this.
Hey, thanks for the link. Although I am fine with the form, my conversational Dutch isn't the best unfortunately and I switch to German without realising it more often than not; would this still be alright?
I am available as soon as I have sorted out my passport (in the process atm), and will take the time off university to drive down so I am not really bound by time, although I would love to help you right now if I could. I'll be comfortable with most jobs -kitchen duties, sweeping the floors, basic medical care, organising things to keep people busy and just talking to the people and making them feel welcome. Wherever you need me the most basically.
I will keep you updated with the status of my passport, as the moment it arrives I will arrange everything formally and see you there!

Not bluffing.

It inst a tent camp ist temporary isolated and heated houses with doors, windows and everything.
They get a lot better medical care then they would in their own country and also better than the Dutch population (which is already in the top 3 best care systems in Europe).
They are whining because they are not getting the care they are used to in their own country's (AKA antibiotics to treat absolutely everything and hallucinogens for pain relief.)

Just curious, are there no camps in the UK where you can volunteer?

if they start applying for jobs, youll just cry that theyre taking your jobs :downs:
You know, I've noticed on my Facebook feed that a lot of people are spamming shit about "Obongo wants to bring 500 centillion refugees when we have veterans that are homeless!!! This is unacceptable!!! Like and share if you agree :)" or some horseshit like that.
But the thing is, it's all these people that have never given a shit about societal issues before. Like they have never given two rat dicks about homeless vets beforehand, why the sudden outpouring of sympathy? Sounds like it doesn't have anything to do with veterans, but just that they don't want some spooky brown people too close by.
I hate the south.

"Either doxx yourself or you're lying," is a powerful and well-established form of rhetoric, don't you know?

Do you actually know that for a fact?
Also, I hate the fact that everyone uses these examples to judge all refugees at one and depict them as money-seeking cowards. Do you people actually think millions of refugees are undertaking an extremely dangerous trip, suffering from starvation and having to walk for miles just so they can live someplace where it's a tiny bit better? Seriously, they really wouldn't do all that if they had a decent life in their own country. I'm not saying there isn't a minority profiting from this in a disgusting way, but most people here seem way too anti-refugee.
How the fuck can we pride ourselves on being a civilized society, accepting human rights as a cornerstone of the Western world when we start denying people the help they need because some are giving us an excuse not to.

yeah I sure hate it when out of touch college kids talk about supporting the refugees even though it wasn't so long ago that those same people couldn't point to syria on a map...
wait
holy fucking shit the letter does say criminality will rise if the conditions continue like that but not in a way like "we're fucking going to rob you if you don't give us what we want". it's a warning not a threat
very misleading title
People from Fort U.S.A. really shouldn't be arguing in immigrant/refugee topic threads.
I agree. People from the U.S. understand are more likely (at least if they have a decent grasp on history) to understand the utter pointlessness of nativism, and more likely to realize that there's little harm to taking on immigrants of another race.

It's a lot more than that. The main issue isn't refusing refugees support, it's not having the resources to give them good support that will make them start out well. Don't be surprised if they report being treated poorly from being given the bare minimum.

the fuck does geography knowledge have to do with supporting refugees ?

nothing, that's right
