It's not really a backwater town, just a city that's not doing so well, it also has a lot of violence because there are Jews, Christians and Muslims. Most of them don't bother each other but occasionally there are gangs of teenagers just causing trouble. Where I live however is quite different, the prices for houses and apartments are way higher so only successful people live here, the problem is that it's quite small so there's not much here, not even a decent video game store.
