Woo for millions of bank accounts wiped clean. So what that some of those people will lose thousands of dollars all because they wanted to buy a DLC? So what if some people will be unable to pay rent, or even worse, unable to buy food? So what that addresses, names, credit cards, passwords of MILLIONS of people may be dumped online? so what that this info is enough to do a lot of bad things to them? NOBODY deserves this.
Exactly. No one should support this, even if they have an absolute hatred for Sony. AnonOps (I'm not trying to start anything here, mind you) clearly omits a helpful tone in their actions, whether they're destructive or not, they don't want to cause problems for people. That in some ways is respectable, but this is just sickening. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
Couldn't you get that money back?
Yes, he can. I already posted in regards to that.
Call the CC issuer and tell them it's fradulent charges. Explain the situation, but whatever you do don't pay off the charges unless it's literally the ONLY option, which it most likely won't be.

Now imagine what would've happened if Sony didn't gimp the GPU access for otherOS.
Now imagine if no one cared that Other OS was taken away :v: Seriously both sides were morons so blaming either side at this point for this is idiotic because whoever did this USED the lawsuit and mess to get into PSN.
Sony is fucked up badly right now.
I think I have my credit card info on there but theres a rare chance that my money will get stolen because theres like millions of accounts.
ok, you do realise that these stolen numbers get distributed and sold across various forums/whatever. you can easily buy 5 legit cc numbers and the addresses to go with them for $1.
Hey! I found a picture of a Sony Exec.
I really hope the Sony picks itself up, I don't want all their first party developers to end up on their own or signing up with someone like EA or Activision(mainly Activision).
Well if you ever wanted to by shares in Sony now's the perfect time! Assuming your money hasn't been stolen by hackers of course.
Couldn't you get that money back?
Yeah, I likely will be able to, but all the same, it really sucks.
Yeah, I likely will be able to, but all the same, it really sucks.
I'm glad I caught mine before anyone made any purchases and I've changed all my passwords.
This all is really sad. Sure, Sony had a bad policy on homebrew, buy that was something they could recover from, but all their data stolen? Sony will never recover. And it's sad, because PSN is a really good service.
This is going to hit everyone. As in, people who've been a part of PSN are gonna be more reluctant to put details into any sort of networking thing. Such as myself Currently changing the password of everything I hold dear. Fuck hackers.
well I guess the PSP will go from $130 to $30
why the hell did they store them as plaintext
why the hell did they store them as plaintext
No one knows if they did or not. Also http://www.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:SNE
checked my bank account, still at it's normal balance phew
Don't be so relieved yet.
checked my bank account, still at it's normal balance phew
Cancel the card and have them issue you a new one asap. You'll be kicking yourself if and when someone uses your card.
any reports of any australians getting their money stolen? if i hear any then i'll probably get around to canceling it
just do it you could be the first aussie
any reports of any australians getting their money stolen? if i hear any then i'll probably get around to canceling it
Uh, it's the entire PSN... Cancel it now.
This is the first time I've ever heard of civilian criminal hacks of this magnitude. Probably not the last time but DAMN.
Uh, it's the entire PSN... Cancel it now.
yeah i know that, and its probably a really bad idea to wait until i hear some close-to-home reports but unless i go out and withdraw three hundred dollars, i can't eat or get anywhere until i get a new card in the mail, which takes up to two weeks
yeah i know that, and its probably a really bad idea to wait until i hear some close-to-home reports but unless i go out and withdraw three hundred dollars, i can't eat or get anywhere until i get a new card in the mail, which takes up to two weeks
Withdraw money needed, and change it. Or be a dumbass and get your entire balance emptied by some criminal who bought your CC# off a card trading forum. Your call.
I wonder if ps3's will be going down in price now lol
yeah i know that, and its probably a really bad idea to wait until i hear some close-to-home reports but unless i go out and withdraw three hundred dollars, i can't eat or get anywhere until i get a new card in the mail, which takes up to two weeks
Get what you need and cancel your card. Better safe than sorry don't you think?
alright, unless something changes by tomorrow, i'll take some measures to secure my stuff it's eight o clock at night, i can't do much right now
I told my mom about this since we used her credit card last 6 months ago, shes not taking it seriously and went back to bed. Now I have to wait for her to wake up so I can get her to transfer the cash and deal with the card while we still have our money. 3 more hours till she wakes up, more then enough time for someone to use our credit card..

Three hours isn't that long.
My mate sent me a steam message 3.5k wiped out of his account, 4.5 k taken from his cousins. His cousin is is 13 and has been working a paper round for years to save that. He said that " fortunately 2 weeks ago I transferred 15k onto another balance. Still, that's a lot of dosh". [editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
any reports of any australians getting their money stolen? if i hear any then i'll probably get around to canceling it
yes, my mate is from Perth and his cousin lives in Darwin
