Apart from all the Sony televisions and blu ray players and mp3 devices and that new tablet they've got coming out considering that Sony isn't just Playstation.

Oh god yes please :v:.
I'm fucked.
this is so messed up
i have to go through a bunch of hoops to make sure i don't lose the money i've saved and worked to earn for the past two years for uni (which i still might lose in the next 12 hours, when i get a chance to actually contact my bank and take precautions) because some cretin is mad at sony, or is just plain greedy and an all around horrible human being
Thankfully my account wasn't compromised yet, and I have just requested a block and a replacement card.
It's quite disgusting that Sony didn't have more security.
This happened to me a while ago with a much smaller itunes breach. I lost about 700 bucks and tons of overdraft fees, but after calling Chase a ton I was able to get it all back, with a 100 dollar bank error in may favor that I told them about. They just said to keep it.
My mate sent me a steam message
3.5k wiped out of his account, 4.5 k taken from his cousins. His cousin is is 13 and has been working a paper round for years to save that.
He said that " fortunately 2 weeks ago I transferred 15k onto another balance. Still, that's a lot of dosh".
Holy mother of fuck, that is a lot.
And what the fuck, the day before this shit happens, i had to do an essay on internet fraud, what the hell?
I think sony has protental on the gaming industry, it'll be a shame if the company ends because of some selfish anti social loser hacker, yes im mad because i just discovered i lost 70 bucks thanks to this bitch.
Well it had more than potential when the PS1 and PS2 rolled along. Its just the PS3 had a slow start and was just starting to gather steam (I think this year they had a ton of exclusives lined up) when this happened.

Your teacher obviously is the hacker you should shop them in.
I just traded in my 360 for a PS3.
I'm beginning to regret that now.
Wait so how can you check if there's been charges? I can't login to my account, which sort of make sense, but I really can't remember what's on it. I don't think I had credit card information on it but I have to make sure.
I've transfered most of my money to my other bank-account, so I'm at least safe'ish. Still gotta ask for a new credit card..

does your bank have a website you can log into and check your balance on?
Well back then if I used a credit card it would have been my parents'. I've already checked my account and there's no charges. I guess I should call them.
you all are worrying about bank accounts. you will be reimbursed if they did access it. what you have to worry about is that psn had access to your mac addresses and ip addies...that imo is worse.
someone i know actually was given some psn accounts by a person... who i am not sure was involved or not. they are not good people. change your passwords to everything...not just your cc or debit card.

yeah
I'm quite mad that they took a 13 year olds hard earned cash

I hope to God the trophies are safe.
I'd rather some hacker charge me thousands of dollars than be forced to replay all those games again.

FYI withdrawing your money won't make you completely safe since it's
CREDIT card data.

What can they do with a MAC address, and most consumer IPs are dynamic.
Not to mention there would be zero reason as to why they would be on PSN servers.

Unless you used a DEBIT card.

You don't read well anyway, do you?
The point was that he needed money to get by for 2 weeks, I said withdraw the needed money and then order a new card.

what can they do with a mac address? well they are globally unique but changeable. let's say... the look up one of the obtained mac addies... hmmm this person happens to be near by "associate so and so" ... they can shuffle their little jerk butts over and start sniffing.
there are some people that do that.. even if it is a hassle and a pain in the butt...
btw you would be surprised what companies keep stored...hell look at apple...they keep track of everywhere their users go.. you would think it be beneath sony to do the same?
Good job my old credit card details are on there. I haven't been on my PS3 in a few months, and my old card expired at the end of January.
Wow, I was just planning to buy a PS3. Dodged a bullet right there.
Wait, so passwords are compromised too?
Oh god, I hope they aren't placed in a huge dump...
I haven't bothered to change 60% of my passwords to a new one, including PSN!
Fuck, all my accounts... I guess the first password I will change is steam.
Also, how the hell are we supposed to change our passwords on PSN? It's still impossible, isn't it?
