Glad I didn't use a credit card on PSN, just pre-paid Network cards.
If you used a credit card, monitor it very carefully, and call your bank to cancel any charges you didn't make.
If you used a debit card, you're boned.
The same works for debits card no? Depending on your bank.
I just hope from all these fraudulent charges, they are able to catch who ever is responsible or at least get a good trail. The money stolen has to go somewhere in some shape or form.
If not well... nothing wrong with a little misguided angry mobisms. Anyone have their kits ready?
I don't think that's the case this time. This really seems to be done with a very malicious intent. Not a screw a company over attempt but a get money, live like a king attempt. And that's what scares me about it. :ohdear:
I'm sure if it was anyone in the "scene" they'll claim responsibility, get their name all over it, and release the complete data he stole from PSN, just like what happened to Gawker.
I hope everyone gets their money back plus lots of fucking compensation, Sony really fucked up.
Thank god I never had my credit card linked with my PSN. Well, nor was my address or my actual name. Thanks Uncle!
I am so sorry for anyone being affected by this.
Are there any good news about Sony?
They made some sort of tablet that supported PS1 games or something.
Im missing about 400 bucks in the bank. This is just fucked up. This will put my family in a deep ass hole. Its sad.
woohoo, victory for the scrappy underdog against the big, faceless mega-corporation
This is going down in video game history.
Quick question. I have not purchased anything directly on PSN, but I'm wondering if Netflix users using Netflix on the PSN will be effected? I assuming no since the credit card is through Netflix, but I was just wondering for clarification if anyone knows.

ya it's just sony's fault~
Well I'm an idiot, I wanted to check what password I used on my PSN account (I already had to change my passwords once due to Facepunch), so I logged out of the PlayStation forums, now I cannot log back in!
All these because of a bunch of loser nerds and their useless linux, the hackers are huge assholes i feel bad for sony and the people losing money, hopefully sony wont get sued and bankrupt because all damages gets undo and the faggot hackers caught.
I know the hackers may not be geohotz supporters but i believe this is way to much of a coincidence.
So wait, Sony restricts everything and pretty much asks for something like this, and you blame the people who gave them what they had coming?
If it is actually true that Sony was sitting on this information about how severe the security breach was, this could be this end of them as a company.
Don't kid yourself. Playstation is still a small part of what makes up Sony.
Worst case scenario is that they lose considerable stock and cash from lawsuits, and have to spend a few years rebuilding their trust to their Playstation-only consumers. While obviously bad for the company, isn't even close to bankrupting them.
REAL QUESTION INCOMING:
Is sony legally responsible for your lost funds?
No one gives two shits about Linux, it's all about the custom firmware mods and :airquote:backup:airquote: managers created by dumbass teenagers who want to be famous to let people steal games. There is no "homebrew", it's all stealing.
Emulators are pretty cool.
So wait, Sony restricts everything and pretty much asks for something like this, and you blame the people who gave them what they had coming?
They have no fucking right to use peoples info to buy shit.
Are you fucking kidding me...
REAL QUESTION INCOMING:

They knew what was happening even before this, and they didn't warn us until it was too late. It is their fault.
They have no fucking right to use peoples info to buy shit.
I never said they were saints, I said that Sony shouldn't be getting off scott free.
So wait, Sony restricts everything and pretty much asks for something like this, and you blame the people who gave them what they had coming?
Since when was OtherOS everything? You think anything going on right now is justifiable so someone can run linux, or "fight the man", etc?
Since when was OtherOS everything?
Since when was that their only restriction?
Now a lot of people are going to say they lost money when they really haven't.

It isn't hard to check bank records.
I hope we have enough for the Electricity bill next month. Only have 30 bucks in the bank. Since my dad is Workers Comp he doesnt get payed for 2 weeks. And he only gets 400 bucks. And my moms paycheck comes in 2 months. Which has 2,000 dollars.

I checked my moms Bank Account. I lost almost 500 dollars.
Does PSN store credit card info by default?
I've bought one thing only on the store.
It isn't hard to check bank records.
You would be surprised how many people find it very difficult to punch a few numbers on their phone or punch a few keys just to access their bank account.
I checked my moms Bank Account. I lost almost 500 dollars.
Does your bank have fraudulent transactions? It should right?
So wait, Sony restricts everything and pretty much asks for something like this, and you blame the people who gave them what they had coming?
Restricts everything? All they did was get rid of a useless feature, i understand people getting mad by that but that is no excuse to steal money from customers.
They knew what was happening even before this, and they didn't warn us until it was too late. It is their fault.
You're talking in moral form. I'm talking if sony is LEGALLY responsible.
