I don't get it, shouldn't all this information be encrypted in some way that nobody can read this, or did they compromise Sony's keys too? I have a feeling this is just the beginning of the shitrain and the storm hasn't even started yet.
why cc data is stored on the servers in the first place is a mystery.
thank god i used prepaid cards. oh wow, just wow, i though of this posibility so i never used credit cards on psn. i saved myself from a big one
I still like Sony. I don't blame them for getting hacked and as always, shit happens.
And like always, People are loosing money to hackers who has no life but to steal from CUSTOMERS all cause of Sony. Sony should have kept our info secret. Not out in the bloody open.
"We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident." Maybe the outside experts are the hackers getting an inside look on how things work o.o
this is Sony's fault, not only did they not report that people's money was at stake for a week, but they also should have had a secure system in the first place
Hopefully everything turns out fine.. Kinda doubt it though.
Sony is not gonna recover from this. They should fix the problem. Then just fuck off.
Hopefully everything turns out fine.. Kinda doubt it though.
When pigs fly and it rains food. Then they will finally fix it.
I wonder how this will affect other things aswell as the current things that power the MMOs out there like SWG.
Well, there goes my money for Rainbow Six Vegas 2. :frown:
Yes I know, still a stupid selfish thing to say. The feature was useless to you, but not for others. If they removed the ability to play games or bluray movies you'd be pissed. It's the same thing.
Yes you're right sorry i'm just angry over losing my money to some asshole hacker, but like i said in the other pages these money getting stolen shouldn't be justified over OtherOS.
Damn that was quick.
It should be. Sony's security just sucks.
This is Sony's security.
I still like Sony. I don't blame them for getting hacked and as always, shit happens.
"Shit happens" isn't a good enough excuse for a preventable security fuckup of this scale.
My dad is a lawyer. I talked with him about this (after cancelling our credit card) and he said the following. "Sony is 100% liable. There is no excuse for what they did, or in this case, DIDN'T do. They failed to release information about secure data being leaked 24 hours after the initial 'leak' (he used air quotes). And even after giving them [my] credit card information, they are legally bound to go to all ends of the earth to protect your data. And in an event like this, PlayStation is liable for the misplaced funds, so they must return those to whom they belong." He used those words, so I put them down. He also re-opened the account where the credit card was used to buy things from PSN. If any funds are missing, my dad is going to press charges.
Where are you Kevin Butler?!
They have no choice. Its over for them so they should refund the money and not hoard it.
Businessmen will be businessmen..
Where are you Kevin Butler?!
he's preparing a "we're sorry" video, which is being coached by BP
I hope he wins.
i hope everyone that lost any money sues and wins
I hope he wins.
I hope the same, but there is always the fact that we don't get anything taken.
You're gonna spend more money suing them than the money you'll gain.
Where are you Kevin Butler?!
kevin butler, vp of damage control
I got on the bandwagon and canceled my debt card. Better safe than sorry I suppose.
Just informed all my friends who have PS3s about this (if they don't know already.) Hopefully they get their credit cards sorted out before it's too late.
It's times like this that I am greatful that the CC I use can make temp codes that only work on one account of one service. I have one for PSn, one for Amazon, etc etc. I've even tested trying it on multiple accounts or different services. Didn't work. So basically I know I'm safe as money can't be withdrawn from it.
i hope everyone that lost any money sues and wins
Id sue. But im 16 so it wont work.
