When it can be pulled, it is pulled hard.
But usually most beards people try to grow are pube fluff and misery.
Why do people hate on this "hipster" fad so much? It's probably the hottest style west has had in recent time. It looks manly and rough while also going well with classy stuff like suits and what not.
Because everyone -literally- everyone is using it (at least, in my area) and that kinda defeats the purpose of dressing and having YOUR style.
Come on, if you liked the style the moment you saw it, you would have used it. You can't tell me a dude that joins the beard crew late is because he really digs the style.
No, it's not being edgy, punk, whatever. There are some guys in my uni which have been using that beard for a long time before it became popular and it totally fits them.
Fashion/Moda is supposed to be about giving an expression/statement.

it looks fucking shit.
this thread seems to be highly subjective all around

Wow, watch out, you could unleash a never ending debate about what's beautiful and what's not.
It's not that subjective and it's not that objective.

Because it's pretentious and beards at disgusting. I think it's a European fad and it just screams "college freshman" to me.

no lol
That's like not true at all though?

It's kinda normal for guys to take care of their physical appearance in east asia.
Westerners generally have different standards.
It's just cultural differences I guess.
Same thing with clothes. Americans seem to have a hateboner for guys wearing properly fitting clothes and prefer [del]ill-fitting ones[/del]more loose fitting ones for "manliness".
This isn't true for all people but to me it seems that while asians generally go for looks like this(i keep reading about westerners saying that it's "gay" but idk to me it's just good grooming)

Americans/maybe westerners in general consider these manly

I don't mean to offend anyone. It's just that from personal experience I've noticed that most westerners(americans in particular) generally ridicule male people for wearing tighter/slim fitting clothes for some reason. Of course there are clothes that are meant to be worn loose but if you care about aesthetics that's usually not the case with jeans, slacks, etc.
And when people in the US tell someone "hey, nice shirt" it's -usually- because of what's written/drawn on the shirt(some random reference) or the brand name rather than how the shirt looks like. Just something I've noticed. It seems to me like the average western guy(not all of them) care less about these kinds of things, and those who do are kinda ostracized in a way.
I don't know what you're talking about, a ton of men wear slim fitting clothes here. You're generalizing way too much here imo. There's a very broad range all over as far as fashion goes, even if some things are more popular than others.
Beards are disgusting? Haha what man? Proper beards are sexy as fuck.
To me they look like a ball of pubes, but theyre probably riddled with bacteria and shit. I don't think they're manly at all. They're like a shirt that hipsters and college students put on that says "manly" on it, but I'm not fooled by it. Beards are gonna be this generation's mullet (maybe the man bun will be, though). Our kids are gonna look at pictures from today and say "why was everyone wearing flannel shirts, tight jeans, and a beard?"
It's like the white guy uniform.

Yeh, cause men only just now started wearing beards. In the previous annals of history all men were consistently clean-shaven, because all other people in the world shared your distaste for beards. Also man buns are usually for functionality, a guy with long hair will have a bun at say, work, but usually prefers to keep it untied normally. Cause not every guy wants to have short hair.

One thing nazis knew well is how to look stylish as fuck.
considering our kids are going to probably be poorer than us i would not be surprised to see care in physical appearance go down in western countries

How old are you? Beards have been around for fucking centuries. Your acting like a hipster twat
Lots of people dont realise how bad they actually look with facial hair, but keep it and insist it looks manly. If you try to tell them they get all angry like you're just jealous you can't be a part of their cool kids club of beards (lol). IMO clean shaven, with short back and sides is solid.
Beards are not nasty. I take good care of mine - that is, I thoroughly wash it and brush it, to keep it nice, shiny and smooth.
After all, if you're gonna rock a long-ass, metal kind of beard like I do (it's been 3+ years since I've shaved), keeping it nice is a must, or else you'll just look like a hobo.

Is it?
If anything nigger might have changed more since it's now sometimes even positively charged.
If you are balding, you are not going to grow a skullet. If you have patchy beard, you probably should go clean shaven. But if you can grow a great beard then flaunt it darling. Why hide it?

I'd argue "nigger" with a hard r, especially depending on who it's coming from, has an entirely separate meaning from "nigga".

this is the perfect amount of facial hair no questions. idk what it is but it's so incredibly sexy
People here often criticize men who take care of their appearance, but I don't care what people think. I seriously like to take care of my appearance.
I have yet to understand why people make such a big deal out of men taking care of their appearance; what's wrong with wanting to look and smell good? Really, I feel more organized when I take care of how I look.
In the middle-east (where I live), people take "manliness" way too seriously. I sometimes find that quite cringe-worthy.

Jealousy, laziness or lack of social skills are my best bets. It's the same as when fat people criticize others for exercising. There's no reason not to take care of your appearance, everyone digs it, especially the ladies.

Almost all words have different meanings depending on inflection and context.
i spend hundreds upon hundreds on hair care :D:D
Pretty much men taking care of their appearance is taboo in rest of the world.
Depends how much you mean by "taking care of their appearance"
I trim my beard every few weeks to keep it all even, keep my face washed, don't leave the house with my hair all fucked up, when I know there's a reason to do it I might spray on some cologne, and I make sure my earrings match my clothes and all sorts of other misc shit.
But I don't know what wearing a mud mask and cucumbers would do for me or why I should care and the one time I let my girlfriend throw some makeup on me I looked in the mirror and felt worse for it.

Yes, 100% this.
I say "nigga" as a common part of my language among friends no matter the race and nobody gets offended, but I would never say the word "nigger" unless we were having this exact conversation and even then I'd have to debate it and say it in a hushed tone because that's actually strictly a slur.
The moment a black kid called me a nigga and I replied "but I'm not black" and he said "so?" in middle school I started realizing it doesn't matter what the word used to mean.

Indeed, Middle easterns take their shaving sessions way too seriously.

Those barbers are incredibly skilled, but the beard looks like it was painted on, sometimes.

a trustfund kid in brooklyn wore it once i guess, although i'm not really sure how someone dressing a certain way can actually be annoying
like, if you find the way some people dress annoying you should stay away from the midwest, a common thing here in Iowa is wearing baseball caps and snapbacks up at an angle or to the side, t-shirts with the sleeves torn off, and baggy jeans or bibs tucked into mud boots; often even if you don't actually live in the country or work in those clothes :v:
