So if Hillary gets voted by this Electoral College, does she still have a chance to get the presidency or something?
it's almost garunteed to not happen, but yes, if the electoral college votes for hillary, she will become the presidency despite trump winning more than 270 in the general election

"Mike Pence funded gay conversion therapy"

DID YOU MEAN THAT MIKE PENCE SUPPORTS GAY CONVERSATION, WHICH INVOLVES THE USE OF ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY?
IN THAT CASE, YOU'RE WRONG. HE DIDN'T SAY HE SUPPORTS GAY CONVERSION THERAPY, HE DIDN'T SAY THAT HE SUPPORTS ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY.
(but he did advocate for it)
trump literally did not win the majority of votes
Tbh that's not a fair assessment. Many people in non-swing states don't bother to vote as their literally doesn't matter. Although it would work both ways, I think we would have a much much higher turnout if it was a simple majority.
You can't change the rules after they didn't work in your favor. Pretty funny how everyone suddenly gets upset when something that everyone knew could happen happens.

She would be the POTUS.
so literally actually what I said? diverting fundings to conversion therapy for homosexuals?

WHAT'S FALSE: Pence never stated that he supported the use of electric shocks or "gay conversion" therapy.
changing how one practices sex is not equal to conversion therapy?
it says changing their sexual behavior... not orientation.
the future vice president of the united states of america tried to divert AIDS funding to conversion therapy for homosexuals
So are you afraid Pence is gonna convert all the gays? I don't exactly see how that makes it dangerous for anyone seeing as he is the vice president and not actually in any position of real power.

from what I've read, the electoral college CAN change their votes before january and let someone else become president, regardless of any earlier outcomes. but they won't. it's never happened before and would cause extreme outrage throughout the whole US. trump won 'fair and square' so people will have to wait and see what he does, it's all you can do.
trump literally did not win the majority of votes
We're not a democracy, we're a republic, or a representative democracy.

that's literally therapy that is intended to convert homosexuals to straight
that has also been proven to never work, and has a MASSIVE rate of suicide amongst people (especially minors) that go through it

where does it say conversion

Trump is going to murder you?

So if I take therapy, does that mean I won't fuck men but I would still be gay?
It's interesting that the same people who think the electoral college process is broken because it doesn't work via direct democracy are the same people who don't want direct democracy to override parliamentary sovereignty in the UK with regard to Brexit. Can't have it both ways. Hillary + Brexit or Trump + Remain. Pick your poison.
I can't help but wonder how many people say "The majority were for Clinton by 160,000" but also say that "1.9% (1,250,000 votes) isn't enough of a margin" for Brexit.

He has the ear of the president. That's about as close as you can get. theres a reason why he's called the vice-president, not just 'the dude who sits near the president'
changing how one practices sex is not equal to conversion therapy?
Congress should support the reauthorization of the Ryan White Care Act only after completion of an audit to ensure that federal dollars were no longer being given to organizations that celebrate and encourage the types of behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus. Resources should be directed toward those institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior.
What sexual behavior do you think he's talking about? Hint: It's not bugchasing.
38 faithless electors is a huge number. Never gonna happen.
where does it say conversion
that's essentially the definition of conversion
So are you afraid Pence is gonna convert all the gays? I don't exactly see how that makes it dangerous for anyone seeing as he is the vice president and not actually in any position of real power.
haha guys it's not like the vice president of a country has any power!.
Trump has absolutely no experience running a country, so it stands to reason that he will be deferring to his advisers an awful lot.
Trump also pissed off an awful lot of his party during the election, so again, It make sense for him to start rubber-stamping all of the religious right's harebrained schemes to get back into their good books.
where does it say conversion
do you know the definition of conversion or

Except that voting directly on policy and voting directly on representatives is not the same thing.
"We lost, so we ask that you forgo democracy so we can get our way"
Trump is going to murder you?
Have to remember that up until recently (today?) Trump was saying that he was going to gut the ACA and remove healthcare coverage for many Americans. People on their parents insurance under 26, people with preexisting medical conditions, etc.
Plus the whole temper issue doesn't exactly lend itself to great leadership
Except that voting directly on policy and voting directly on representatives is not the same thing.
Sure, but voting on policy in the case of Brexit can still lead to non-movement and a permanent remain status so it amounts to the same thing.
that's essentially the definition of conversion
ok, but its not necessarily conversion to a different sexual orientation like "praying the gay away" or something. its very vague
Elaborate?

Good argument.
One of many reasons

It's a damn good thing she doesn't stand a chance anymore even though that meant Trump getting elected.
No, she would actually BE the president. Donald Trump is technically not the president-elect of this country as we are speaking, it's just incredibly likely and assumed to be that he will be, because electors vote on behalf of their constituents. Usually. There is nothing that requires them to vote that way, legally.
The election has not truly actually happened yet, it's the public election that has, the one that determines how these electors will consider their vote come December.
Thanks a lot guys, I understand it now
I wonder if Hillary got the vote, would the riots and protest currently going on would lessen up or get worse..

Both of those conditions he already said he was considering keeping when he replaces Obamacare. He never said he was just going to gut it and be done, it's always been repeal and replace.

Trump supporters would be rioting and protesting instead.
