and thats already how the system works, nobody is forcing parents to do all vaccines at once
You're right, people are skipping them altogether. I feel the argument has devolved and resulted in an "all or nothing" attitude from a lot of people, kind of a reactionary response from both sides. While Donald Trump personally has wrong views on the subject, if he doesn't start screwing with the system then its a nonissue. What did surprise me was when the attitude to climate change wasn't "We won't shut down all our oil plants in two seconds, but instead drive funding into Solar, Hydro, and possibly Nuclear technology to eventually lead to a smooth economically sensible transition to more sustainable resources." But instead "We'll shut down bills that impact oil, no need to change things right now." Really painfully simplified, but as George Orwell said, quite roughly, was that if you want to talk politics, keep the vocabulary to a minimum.
also fuck the GOP for tying global warming to short term economic gains, the fucking GAO and PENTAGON are saying this will ruin our economy in the next 30 years
Conservative logic: A kid of middle-eastern descent builds a clock, shows to teacher what it is, IT MUST BE A BOMB WE CAN'T BE TOO CAREFUL Scientific data shows that global temperatures are rising and that if left unchecked it could cause huge problems for literally everyone, BUT THINK OF ALL DAT MONEH! [editline]16th September 2015[/editline]
and thats already how the system works, nobody is forcing parents to do all vaccines at once, it should have been a simple yes/no answer, instead they pandered to the tinfoil hat crowd by trying to say the current system is wrong about this
Don't they essentially cater to EVERY tin-foil hat crowd though? Jade Helm? GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY! Iran deal? FAST TRACK TO ISRAEL'S DESTRUCTION! Benghazi? OBAMA LET IT HAPPEN ON PURPOSE! North Korea? ANY DAY NOW, JUST YOU WAIT!
Trump is right, autism has definitely become an epidemic
Well Trump's complete lack of self awareness in running his mouth certainly could be mistaken for aspergers.
I can't even understand what rand Paul was saying, you have freedom to decide when to vaccinate your kids, the only limit is that they have all their shots before they enter primary school, that's usually age 5 or 6 in the US, so they can get a shot a year if you are really that paranoid about it, most of the vaccines are safe for 3 year olds, so its a non issue that he had to make up to say something instead of acknowledge how libertarian values have no place in immunology and that the system as it exists is fine
I did dislike how he handled it, and as a Libertarian myself, I actually agree with you. He pretty much just beat around the bush. As for you, Incoming, truthfully, it could be. With me, I know the system works and I listen to healthcare professionals on it. In the end it is left up to the parents, but I feel that perhaps they should be given some added education on it. I understand there are fears, and whenever you do a simple google search you are even inundated with tons of stories claiming vaccines cause autism, etc which adds to the problem. Of course, you got those who will refuse to believe that vaccines are safe, and sadly, some of them have kids who can catch easily preventable diseases.
The comment with how vaccines cause autism is pissing me off. Many studies show that this isn't true, and it feels like people with autism like me are part of the problem with what Trump is saying. This is outrageously stupid. He's never getting my vote, no matter what else he says.
Sadly Trump is one of the most moderate republicans in the debate for how much of a stupid clown he is, I'd never vote for him but he'd be better than a lot of the other republican candidates, like Rand Paul who's libertarian "magic" is going to destroy the economy. I can see the idea behind republican ideals (The ones that aren't meant to appeal to dumb old people, anyway) but I disagree with them. I can't see the idea behind libertarian ideals, I don't want the world to turn into Shadowrun tyvm I'd still go ballistic if he turned out to be a democrat in disguise, be the best news I'd ever heard. McCain is still the only reasonable republican I've ever heard of.
McCain is still the only reasonable republican I've ever heard of.
Didn't he pick Sarah Palin as a running mate?
Didn't he pick Sarah Palin as a running mate?
That was a mistake. He had a strong support from the moderate Republicans, but the extremists thought he was to liberal. He took on Palin as VP to gain their support, and promptly lost the moderate support.
That was a mistake. He had a strong support from the moderate Republicans, but the extremists thought he was to liberal.
Yeah, cost him the election. I think it was this that really started fracturing the GOP party.
Party might split between the Young Gun progressives, the Old Guard moderates. And the Tea Party extermists. There's a lot of potential situations, and the ones ending in the dissolution or splitting of the Tea Party are the best. To be entirely honest, I'd love to see the Republicans split from the Tea Party and allow the moderates and progressives to take control of the party. [editline]17th September 2015[/editline] I should mention for Facepunchers still in Europe that the Tea Party is not a majority of the Republicans, they're an incredibly vocal minority that, unfortunately, exerts control over the party.
