It would be neat if they held a "Night of Universal Brotherhood" where people of all faiths (and those who lack them,) as well as all backgrounds, can get together and celebrate the diversity of the human race.
I would gladly advocate this as an atheist.
Let's celebrate communism night as well. What about a nazi party night too while we're at it?
nothin wrong with communism if you actually have a clue what it is (you dont obviously) nazis are fucked up though
Let's celebrate communism night as well. What about a nazi party night too while we're at it?
You're comparing spirituality to political doctrines that either advocate hate against minority groups and super nationalism or a failed governmental system wherever it was implemented that both resulted in the death of millions (note: I don't want to start this communism shit storm. I'm just going off of what he intended). what are you doing
nothin wrong with communism if you actually have a clue what it is (you dont obviously) nazis are fucked up though
Didn't say anything was wrong with communism.
Well no one had a problem with it (as mentionned before, Greeks and Romains) until someone said it was wrong.
Actually it was highly frowned upon and even punishable by law unless your "partner" was a slave.
Yeah, but the "(religion here) Nights" probably pissed off atheists just as much, so I'd consider it just about even.
I don't think any athiest who saw a church night or something felt especially embittered by the sight. This seems more like an unnecessary jab than anything else disguised by fun activities. Hell, if their kids are there, how different are they from the religious fanatics that indoctrinate their kids with religion? Neither groups of children are going to abandon the sense of community they get from this stuff when they get older. Where's the difference? Same bullshit being pushed by two groups.
Didn't say anything was wrong with communism.
the context suggests comparison
Yeah, pretty much. Have a look at the ancient world. Especially the Greeks and Romans
AHAHAHA GREEKS, HOMOPHOBIC? Dude, the Spartans actually used to plough their trainees to form a stronger bond between the master and the student when they were training for war.
AHAHAHA GREEKS, HOMOPHOBIC? Dude, the Spartans actually used to plough their trainees to form a stronger bond between the master and the student when they were training for war.
i think he was saying that the ancient world didnt give 2 fucks but just worded it poorly
Let's celebrate communism night as well. What about a nazi party night too while we're at it?
communism night would be cool. everyone gets a free drink and hot dog.
and if they fuck up they get put in a siberian labor camp
So all homophobia is the result of religious beliefs?
Essentially yes. Not ALL, but certainly most.
how is religion being used to pass legislation against citizens who don't agree with it? in fact, why does that even matter - unless there's a constitutional violation of seperation of church and state, what does it matter what the motive is?
Oh, you sweet summer child.
communism night would be cool. everyone gets a free drink and hot dog.
everyone is promised a free drink and a hot dog, all of the drinks and hot dogs go to the three people hosting the event
communism night would be cool. everyone gets a free drink and hot dog.
it's all fun and games until someone gets an icepick in the back
