I was waiting for someone to do that.
I have yet to see one with Europe in the middle. :( It's always either the US or Asia.
uh Europe is already in the middle of every map
Why isn't there any green on land?
I was just thinking the same thing. Have we really depleted our mother earth of her greenery?
took 40 sec to load, is that good?:v:
It's so... uncomfortable to try and find out what part of Earth is on the picture at first. Kind of uncommon angle. But looks absolutely stunning. I may stop saying that I want another globe to live on. This one is the most beutiful thing in the entire Galaxy. Never ceases to amaze me.
What? It's clearly India that it's centred on.
I have yet to see one with Europe in the middle. :( It's always either the US or Asia.
Its usually Africa because that's where Homo Sapiens originated
I still find it incredible that you can't actually see any human cities from space, at least not from this shot. It's only on the night side, you'd actually be able to see it, unless you got into the atmosphere...
Why isn't there any green on land?
I guess the red is supposed to be green. Because the Nile delta is red, while it's green in real life.
I have no idea of optics in space but honestly I expected the picture to be more detailed and clearer.
The picture has been loading for 5 minutes and this is how far it's gotten. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71913666/internet.png[/t] I know my internet only gets dial-up speeds, but holy shit.
Well, it's slow here too, but when it first was posted, it loaded in like 10 seconds v:v:v
I I may stop saying that I want another globe to live on. This one is the most beutiful thing in the entire Galaxy. Never ceases to amaze me.
I want to live on the moon, just so i could wake up with the earth greeting me.
What's with all the red? EDIT: Oh sorry, I missed this
Infected countries.
WALLPAPER GO.
Is there some reason it should be?
-The joke -Your head.
Infected countries.
Then why is Madagascar not green?
time for a new background! If only it'd load, can anyone upload it online or something for me?
What's with all the red? EDIT: Oh sorry, I missed this
invaded countries
-snipgotittowork-
so why has the world always been shown as green?
so why has the world always been shown as green?
It hasn't?
I have yet to see one with Europe in the middle. :( It's always either the US or Asia.
Because then you lose the view of a large portion of Earth's landmass because the Atlantic Ocean would take up the whole left side and you'd see barely any of Asia. [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Why is the vegetation orange/red? Is that what it looks like from space? Why?
Holy Shit, Big doesn't even begin to describe this image
so why has the world always been shown as green?
Because most satellite pictures are not taking using a visible spectrum. Hence the red hue.
Holy Shit, Big doesn't even begin to describe this image
Big doesn't even begin to describe distances in space.
It concerns me that there is a lot of orange color. It looks like Mars.
I still find it incredible that you can't actually see any human cities from space, at least not from this shot. Cannot see United States of Freedom 0/10 would not view.
Been loading 4 minutes, and I can just barely make out N. Korea.
Thats a slow connection speed for a satellite. I mean, shit I get 50 Mbps and the image took long enough to load.
You have a fibre optic connection, wired, and are within several miles of a switch. They are broadcasting information from fucking orbit.
