Slain 2-Year-Old Hit Grandfather With Toys As He Killed Her Mom

Holy shit, what's wrong with people?
I'd also like to point out the thread title is really misleading. I thought it meant that the 2 year old was throwing toys at it's grandfather while killing it's mother.
Fuck sake, I've been over these arguments in a thread before about some psychopath.
Because that's the fucking way the universe works. Because cause and effect. Because there are CLEARLY parts of the brain that are linked to certain functions. There are parts of your brain dedicated to running your vital, bodily processes, parts dedicated to taking in visual information and processing it, parts dedicated to taking in auditory information and processing it, there are parts that handle motor functions, and even parts of the brain that handle emotion. And guess what? When parts of the brain don't function correctly, surprise sur-fucking-prise, the thing they control goes to hell, too.
Damage to certain parts of the brain will cause blindness, loss of motor function, even a change in personality (see the case study on Phineas Gage, a man who had an iron rod impaled through his skull which drastically changed his personality).
And guess what? Brain scans of criminals who have carried out incredibly violent, socially abhorrent crimes and show no remorse or emotion have shown that the parts of their brain that are responsible for feeling empathy and other, basic human-to-human emotions are remarkably diminished. A lot of them also tend to lack a normal quantity of brain tissue in the part of the brain that's responsible for... well, foresight, basically (consequence analysis and risk assessment).
Yes, I did forget that 'common sense' trumps advanced psychology and case studies of rehabilitation-based prison systems.

And I must have forgotten at some point that psychology trumps neuroscience. Silly me.

So what's your alternative? Throw him in with the rest of the prisoners and have him beaten to death? Execute him on the spot?
Yeah, great plan.

If it turns out his brain is malformed and it's not something treatable? Sure. Lock him up for life. He's a danger to society in that case and should be treated like one.
What the fuuuuuuuck??
He stood there and answered "yes" to his name, jesus thats cold.
Thats not the kind of thing that jailtime fixes. Nothing can fix that. Nothing.
That man is broken.

Yes. Let's use snide sarcasm and a small fact to try to prove a point while completing ignoring the fact that he killed two people, one of whom was a two year old child, and stabbed one of them so hard and so much that the knife broke inside of her.
I see the error of my ways now. I am sorry. Let's sit this man down for a few days and talk to him, explain to him why what he did was wrong, then allow him to rejoin society. I'm sure it'll all work out for the best.

What are you even talking about? I wasn't using any form of sarcasm at all. The man is fucking broken. There is no therapy in the world that will fix that, or even suppress that with any rate of success. The only solution that ensures the safety of anyone that he ever encounters again is ending his life or locking him in a box for the rest of his life.
Fuck dude I didn't even know you had posted something, chill out.
That pisses me off so bad. How the fuck did his daughter survive that long? If he gets mad over getting hit in the face with a FUCKING TOY?

Throwing things and swinging them at him are both considered "hitting" him.
That's one sick puppy.
On a side note, did the great grandfather really call his grand child and great grandchild 'Poor Creatures'?

He was the father and grandfather, not grandfather and great grandfather. he killed his daughter and her daughter.
Also, i'm not delving in to arguments about prison/asylums.
Just Rest in peace.
Suddenly I got this urge to kick someone in the balls while crying
I still cannot understand how anyone could kill a little boy / girl.
Fucking tragic, and it just makes the entire situation all the more tragic when you read that the grandfather was mentally ill. This is why these 'sicknesses' should be controlled. The really depressing part of this all is that there are perfectly sane people doing equally as fucked up shit.
Unless he's insane or god told him to.
Sadly the whole "crossing fingers in front of his murdered granddaughter" kinda validates this theory.
I read this as "Stalin 2-year old" for some reason :v:
I don't wanna wish death on others....but is it even possible that I'm the ONLY one who wants to beat the living shit outa this man? Thats HORRIBLE!

i don't think a "can we fix it? no, it's fucked." mentality is the right thing to take on in these situations.
To people who are against rehabilitation, I forget what country it was in Europe (I wanna say Norway) has that system and guess what? Most criminals come out fixed, and don't return to prison ever again.
Here we have people in and out of jail their entire lives. In fact in the case that made the Supreme Court rule that all people can get a free lawyer, that guy was on trial for murdering a fellow inmate (he claimed it was self defense). Why was he in prison in the first place? He robbed a store, and was placed in prison where he became a worse person (aka a "better" criminal).
Couldn't agree more. I really don't see any reason not to at least have a shot at rehabilitation.
It's utterly terrible to advocate just leaving someone to their own insanity. It's entirely out of their control. That's like blaming a child for missing a day of school because of something important; they have no control over the situation.
When they got inside, the child began playing with toys as Renteria picked up the knife and stabbed his daughter in the chest
Christ...
That is fucked up beyond belief.
Renteria's crying 2-year-old granddaughter hit him with a toy, and Renteria stabbed the toddler 10 times in the abdomen with another knife
What a cunt, people like this need to rot.
I'm hoping for him to get the chair.
Wait, this was a grandfather?
One question, did he have alzhiemer's?
I'm hoping for him to get the chair.
We don't even use electric chair anymore.
We don't even use electric chair anymore.
Then chop his head off on public TV
I keep seeing more and more of these fucked up stories here.
I'm all for a third World War now. This world needs to end.
not sure if this is late, but i was trippin balls over heels because of the title. seriously make some grammatically correct titles...
[editline]30th October 2011[/editline]
now im even more mad because i just read the first few lines...what the fuck!!!
Wait, this was a grandfather?

You don't necessarily have to be what we consider to be 'elderly' to be a grandfather. In this case, the man was 39. His daughter, who had had a child, was 18. And no, he didn't have Alzheimer's, but he was quite mentally ill, from the look of it.
Also, read the article.

Except the person you were replying to wasn't talking about the man who committed the murder, he was talking about his father (who was, then, the grandfather and great-grandfather).
