Kanye is going to write the new national anthem.
Kanye is more than a person, more than a rapper, more than an entertainment personality. He is a physical manifestation of humankind's dionysian self. He represents a sense of self-confidence that people are told is dangerous. He is unbound in every sense of the word. Human accomplishments are inevitable, true voices aren't.
I love Kanye.
Joking or not this is such a good post
Not in an agreement sense but it's fuckin hilarious

That sounds like something Kanye would say. I'm onto you Kanye...
Ice Cube 2020.
One nation under a groove.
Even if Kanye was unequivically the greatest musician in history (which is laughable tbh) there are people doing things that I'd say are a lot more important right now. People around the world are fighting to stop diseases that ruin the lives of millions on a daily basis, turn the tide on climate change that could cause mass extinction, and colonize mars so that when some shit we can't possibly deal with does destroy earth humanity might live into the future. But no, an egotistical rapper who's somehow convinced his fans that he's a genius is totally the greatest person to live in our collective lifetimes and anyone who disagrees clearly just isn't smart enough to understand his genius :speechless:
I'm not gonna defend Kanye here but this stuff is silly, you don't need to be some stemlord fighting against climate change to be important.
but do stem cell scientists have their own clothing line?
no

You're right about him not being the most important person in the world, but regardless of what you think of him as a person he is genuinely a musical genius, that much cant be denied. He is absolutely one of the greatest musicians of our lifetimes at least.

I hope this means good things but man what the hell Kanye.
I hope this means good things but man what the hell Kanye.
honestly, trumps policies may be the opposite of everything ye has put into his music but he's right. using his social position to talk to our president elect about making positive changes is a good thing despite them both being jackasses
I mean if you want to worship people for something as silly as being "unbound" you should really idolize Hitler instead. Pretty sure he was a little more unbound than Kanye.
unbound=unhinged

I agree honestly, not that he's genuinely the greatest person but that he goes for exactly that character and really succeeds as it. His whole schtick of raw, unbridled confidence has genuinely inspired me to understand how to push past opinion and make my life for myself. He's definitely a genius, not best artist ever material but you're totally right to say it goes beyond 'music'
It's like Westworld never ended, ya kinda expected story to go in THAT direction, ya saw all plottwists miles ahead but when it happens it still manges to throw ya away.

I didn't say Kanye wasn't important, I was responding to a person saying they were the most important person we'd ever see in our combined lifetimes, context is important friend.

IMO that's more subjective than Kanye fans would like to admit and I've seen some pretty damn flimsy reasoning for why he's a "genius", but at the very least it'd be a lot more valid to say than trying to claim he's the most important person. The only way he'd become important in any meaningful way is if he convinced Trump to do something.

Wrong thread?
Kanye is a lovable weirdo who did nothing wrong. Beyonce's video WAS better.
dude what
hey just because you cant handle the truth doesnt mean hes not right
Kanye's a bit of an egotistical asshole, and you can totally not enjoy his music, but to wave away his musical and fashion accomplishments is just plain ignorance. I'm not even big on rap, but he's always been a significant figure in the musical industry, up there with artists like Prince, because his music encompasses and combines so many genres and sounds.
His rants sometimes are way out of tune, but I'm still going to love his work. Watson might've been a racist asshole, but his impact on the science world won't be diminished. He's always been a "whatever" personality, yet there's always two sides that either jerk off to him or hate everything he does. Just, chill.
He also had another guest today that no one seems to talk about (much more important though):

Interesting part from CNBC interview:
Gates told CNBC earlier in the day that he spoke with Trump for the first time recently by phone. He compared the president-elect’s push to bring innovation to the country to that of President John F. Kennedy’s expansion of the U.S. space program in the early 1960s.
"A lot of his message has been about ... where he sees things not as good as he'd like," Gates said.
"But in the same way President Kennedy talked about the space mission and got the country behind that," he said, "I think whether it's education or stopping epidemics ... [or] in this energy space, there can be a very upbeat message that [Trump's] administration [is] going to organize things, get rid of regulatory barriers, and have American leadership through innovation."
Glove swapping group? Hard to get gloves that small that aren't themed for toddlers.
I don't really see why our future president would want to waste time with meeting a guy like Trump

Probably should post the rest

Coincidence? I think not.

More than once, 2016 has made me think back to times I hit my head or fell over, and wonder if I died during one of those moments and didn't notice.

Unless Kanye is secretly an international spy.

Looks like he is stepping out of the way for 2020 so he doesn't have to run against Trump, so that Trump is more willing to hear him out since he is no longer a potential competitor for the White House in 2020.
This is a sentence I seriously just typed out in real life. Kanye West and Donald Trump are either current or prospective politicians, making political maneuvers. Just... what?
