so they would really take away a woman's chance of recovering from cancer over 1 cent?
who gives a fuck about 1 cent?
Its business, you pay what you owe or you dont get the service.
Its business, you pay what you owe or you dont get the service.
it's 1 penny
so they would really take away a woman's chance of recovering from cancer over 1 cent?

So what if everyone just forgets 1 cent on their next bill?
A bill is a fucking bill. It's not an estimate.
[editline]07:08PM[/editline]
it's 1 penny
ya so lets just deduct 1 penny from every persons premium
and then lets deduct another penny from that because that penny doesnt matter either
Do that about 98 more times because those pennies don't matter
whoops now its a dollar gone. Meh it's just a dollar whatever.
Do you get the point now? Where the fuck do you stop with the whole "It's just a penny" mentality.
The even sadder part is many people wish the system to stay like that.
Disgusting.
The people who want the system to stay like that are the privileged conservatives - the only group of people that the system works for.
Ok well she can still send in the 1 penny and get covered, so what's the big deal?
I don't see why you guys are so mad about this.
Yeah it sucks but she underpaid, and underpaying is underpaying. The company is a business, not a charity. They could get in huge trouble if it was on the record that they foot the bill for people. Yeah it's a penny and it's hardly anything, but you can thank sue happy dickheads for this, not the company. If it got out that this company was footing the bill AT ALL, people who were declined coverage because they underpaid could use it against the company in court. It doesn't matter the amount, they could still be fucked over in court just by the very act.
Take a look at the big picture guys, christ.
What big picture? A greedy fucking company?

Couldn't agree more.

she had to send in a check and wait for it to be processed before she was able to obtain medical treatment which is fucking absurd
your slippery slope argument is also fucking stupid
ITT gangbang of whining
I'm personally more amused at the fact that she calculated her bill herself.
that's probably the highlight of the article for me.
cause she's gonna pay the extra cent and everything's gonna be fine
The people who want the system to stay like that are the privileged conservatives - the only group of people that the system works for.
I'm not a privileged conservative

Oh, go fuck yourself. Don't even try to make us believe you wouldn't think this is complete and utter bigotry if it was happening to you.
she had to send in a check and wait for it to be processed before she was able to obtain medical treatment which is fucking absurd
Sux shouldn't have underpaid
Youre right a penny is worthless forget about pennies and money lets go back to the barter system
I'm not a privileged conservative
And your argument in this thread has been "she underpaid her bill, it doesn't matter by how much" (which is a fine argument), not "the healthcare system is fine".
Oh, go fuck yourself. Don't even try to make us believe you wouldn't think this is complete and utter bigotry if it was happening to you.
Umm how is this bigotry.

Although I do agree with him, I still feel sorry for the woman.
Fuck then I better move to Canada.
I love being Canadian.
"A company representative told her on the phone that she needed to send a 1-cent check or money order if she wanted to be covered"
Can OP bold this part god damn you people.
I'll remember you saying this when I go and look at the many countries with much better health-care systems. Free ones too, I might add.

"A company representative told her on the phone that she needed to send a 1-cent check or money order if she wanted to be covered"

Ya but that takes like, time and stuff! She should be able to get her coverage IMMEDIATELY even though she didn't pay her premium fully!
What big picture? A greedy fucking company?
Because we all know the current government run healthcare system works real well...
What big picture? A greedy fucking company?

So what should a corporation be in your eyes?
Oh, go fuck yourself. Don't even try to make us believe you wouldn't think this is complete and utter bigotry if it was happening to you.
that's not bigotry... Besides, it's one cent, the bitch can find that shit on the sidewalk. Also I doubt your understanding of my use of the phrase "gangbang of whining". I'm referring to the silly argument that's going on.
you.. white knight..
I'll remember you saying this when I go and look at the many countries with much better health-care systems. Free ones too, I might add.
It isn't really free it is paid for out of our taxes. I also think our health care system (the NHS) is still extremely flawed. It does an all right job though compared to some places.
Because we all know the current government run healthcare system works real well...
it's not installed yet

(It's free to him because he doesn't pay taxes because he doesn't have a job)
What dicks.
come to the holland lands, it's better here.
You can't guarantee the quality of the treatment though, take that from my own experiences. The NHS needs fixing, that is all I am saying, your parents and others already paid for your sisters treatment. You were acting as if it was totally free and sadly nothing is in a world that runs on money.
it's not installed yet
State run coverage is, and it is shit...
Apparently, if I get diagnosed with a terminal disease, my coverage is automatically dropped.
I'll remember you saying this when I go and look at the many countries with much better health-care systems. Free ones too, I might add.
Nothing is free, you pay with your tax dollars I pay through work.
You'd probably pay more through taxes than I pay through work so therefore the system in the USA is superior.
No actually, her treatment was covered by the medical system. No one in my immediate family could cover the 5 digit medical bill she wracked up. I never said it was totally free, I know it's paid for via taxes. But it's not like they extracted every last coin from her paycheck.
You are such a drama queen
"Extract every last coin from her paycheck".
Whatever.
