More details on the new Xbox 360 Slim are disclosed - Polidicks

Why did they do a complete 'suprise' release of it? I know there were adverts on some sites. But it was a case of "Hey It's E3, oh by the way a new xbox is out this week"

It's obvious they won't make the next generation of consoles until there is a significant leap in gaming technology.

I've still got my original xbox360 from back in the day, repaired once and seems to be slowly dying again. Was gonna get an elite but i think i'll just get this instead now

It's ugly as sin, but I'll pick one up anyway. My old Xbox died a month ago and I've been meaning to pick up a new one. Now that this has been revealed I'll get this instead of buying an older one as they cost the same. Built in Wi-Fi is also a major plus as I can't be bothered to shell out a hundred dollars more just for LIVE.

I run cables to pretty much everything. PS3, 360, Computer. If it can run wired, it does.

Microsoft is doing exactly what the PS3 did. Now that I think about it, the PS3 and 360 changed places. PS3 went from shiny and all techy to simple and now 360 is going from cheap to shiny. And what pisses me off is that the 360 slim still has a power brick on the outside. The PS3 is smaller and it doesn't even have a power brick on the outside.

But sure, they're doing exactly what Sony did :downs: I'm probably not going to buy it unless my 360 takes a dump on me, and it hasn't in years, so whatever.

Does it really matter if it's slimmer anyway? I don't know about you but I don't take my 360 around town, it doesn't even move. So I couldn't give a shit less if it was a couple inches shorter and slimmer.

Well my Xbox finally died I think, it got the one ring of death and it doesn't work anymore. I kept that thing dust free and clean too. I might invest in the 360 slim but whats the point if they continue in fucking breaking? I know people that go out and buy xbox after xbox knowing that they eventually die. I'd rather buy a PS3.

Its size is reduced by a fraction of an inch, the focal point is the internal upgrades, specifically the built-in wireless adapter, improved fan and heatsink, and change in layout (which would hopefully completely eliminate the RRoD). Also the gloss is hideous.

I had a chat with one of the guys in game today. He showed me some of the promotional stuff he got through today about the Xbox slim. It's going to cost £199 in the UK and be released on the 16th of july.

I might get it since I have tons of cash sitting in my bank account.

It looks really cool actually, they did a good job with it I think. If I didnt have a perfectly good xbox 360 already I would buy it.
