There is a faster an easier solution.
I HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE EVERYONE AROUND ME JUST AS AWKWARD AS I AM?
The first two times I tried it, my voice involuntarily faded to a whisper. Then every time after that I could do it fine.
I got it working, I think the trick is your not meant to know when it will happen, it certainly makes it difficult to talk when it first happens but you can push through it.
I've never experienced this on skype or whatever, wish there was something on the net that replicates it for you at home, I'm really curious about how it feels now
I guess it's like listening to your microphone while wearing a headset, makes it very hard to talk coherently and rather annoying too.
It is like if you're talking with a microphone to someone else, and they have their speakers on, and you can hear what you're saying like a half second behind when you say it. It is REALLY disorienting and pretty much instantly erodes your ability to dictate and say things coherently unless you completely cover your ears to keep from hearing the echoing.
Actually, this is exactly how I play TF2 by my own settings (voice_loopback 1), because I always want to make sure I sound alright. Being able to hear myself was difficult to talk through at first, but now I'm used to it. Your move, Japan.
Does it also play the sound of nails on a blackboard?
that technology is pretty old.. the speakers on the gun resemble the huge speakers that are out now.
I doubt this will be useful if people want to silence others for more then 2 or 3 seconds at a time. I've held entire conversations spanning an hour or two while my voice was being played back to me and all it did was make me stutter a tiny bit.
finally a better solution to stopping those fucking wizards
30 Meter range? Haha oh good this would just make conversations harder if anything. If I started speaking and then my voice started echoing back at me I would just shout loudly and make it double out. Just complain about the gun and eventually everyone will be pissed off instead of just you. What a pointless invention. How could this be used in a library? Same as above, if you speak and this blasts back at you, you've doubled the problem!
I'm pretty sure Mr speaker in parliament could use one of these.
I hate it when this happens. Whenever I hear myself echo through someone's mic it's like my brain shuts down and forgets how to talk.
i don't understand i've had this same situation multiple times before and never experienced something like that [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline] seriously this invention makes no fucking sense, if you "shut down" when you hear your own voice while talking to someone then i think something is wrong with you
Oh well I think I'sfkbdkjsbfadhurkljbdfhvaleuhfnasdbdhgqqwop.
Dr Evil's job would be so much easyer with one of these.
This would not get rid of his big bag of shhh with your name on it.
Picture of said gun
It has a lazer pointer? YOU! Stop talking.
I've noticed this effect before on VOIP, but you can train yourself to get over it after a couple of minutes. I also think it'd be completely useless against more than one person.

Use it on Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Go, do it now.
Every teacher is going to be wishing for one of these.
and every husband.
I think those of us who speak on microphones with feedback on should be okay.
So much for freedom of speech.

"Shut up." "Make me."
I can't wait for a DIY tutorial for one of these.

I bought one already and it---
Fucking lag ruined my speech!
Sometimes this happens when I'm on the phone with somebody. I've gotten good at tuning it out though because it happens so often :v: Come at me bro.
