but you have to first ask yourself does anything work on vista?
Exactly. I have all bases covered with one solution.
This is why I always tilt the webcam up when I'm masturbating. Enjoy my ceiling, fuckers.
Mine has a little sliding cover.
And Zeke129 was never heard from again.
I sure do feel safer in the Land of the Free™.
why would the light not be hardwired to be on, along the electric path for the camera to function for example, google glass's camera is hardwired so that this isn't possible i call bullshit
so i'm not paranoid for disabling my laptop webcam after all!
Was this honestly a surprise to anybody? We live in an age where any phone is tracked by gps basically 24/7, an age where the government has so much power they could add in keyloggers in the most used anti virus software if they so pleased without any penalty since it's "for our safety." Feel 100% free to disagree with me here, I know it's really fucking dumb that they do this but I've expected this for many years now. This is generally why I turn my webcam away, and unplug or mute my mics when I'm not using them; but of course that doesn't really solve the problem in the case of microphones since if the fbi was really targeting you they would be monitoring your phone's microphone constantly.
You are.
Nothing wrong with that. Plenty of dangers in the world . Governments, tumblr users, etc.
My camera sits on my screen and whenever I don't use it I tilt it towards the roof because I have this weird paranoia that I'm still livestreaming or skype chatting. I dunno why.
How are they gunna spy on me with no webcam
I have always been paranoid that this happens and now this has confirmed it.
Good. I want you to look at my dick
:tinfoil:
Well I don't have one, but if I did, about 90% of the time all they'd see is me fapping.
i always thought the led for the web-cam was hard wired into the actual circuit for the camera, it wouldn't really make any sense to do so otherwise, i mean that would require extra effort on the device maker's part to install and cram extra circuits into it
"Not even our own citizens!"
also that story the OP posted doesn't really mention being able to do so, they just put malware on his comp and probably took still frames, so the camera wasn't on for more than a second, maybe someone wouldn't notice it
Then there's the microphone...
yeah I dont think they would want to see what my webcam could see most of the time unless obama has a hard-on for fat hairy dudes
yeah I dont think they would want to see what my webcam could see most of the time unless obama has a hard-on for fat hairy dudes
Username fits
This could apply to cell phones, tablets, kinect, ps eye
Theres more to this than what the news reports always. A lot cant even be talked about however there are strict rules in place for these kind of things.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Simply having this sort of program/virus is hardly a problem, and has plenty of totally legit applications. If it is abused, though, then we got a problem. At least that's the way I see it, I don't really have much of an understanding of why people are so against invasive procedures when they're clearly meant to only effect bad people
And what exactly makes this a "desperate time"?
And what exactly makes this a "desperate time"?
Terrorists wanna kill our freedom!!!1
gah... this is like a phobia for me. Maybe not like phobia, but makes me really uneasy. I always put my phone camera facing away from me and I had come to terms with not being able to do that with my laptop since there's a light that turns on when it's on. Looks like i'm getting tape.
Jokes on you. I don't have an indicator light.

I mean, yeah, most of the time they are, but there are many times where they aren't.
Pretty sure this is easily thwarted by disabling the camera in the BIOS or at the very least, disabling the driver. Or hell, the low tech solution of tape over the lens. Checkmate FBI.
Because the government isn't always nice and looking to stop bad people? I mean, yeah, most of the time they are, but there are many times where they aren't.
I feel like this is a form of slippery slope argument, though, and isn't that a fallacy? I guess it makes more sense though since people just plain don't trust the government, but I think that the government should be allowed to devise of measures to catch criminals. Plus honestly, why would they bother watching people like us, unimportant non-risks?
Have fun staring at the underside of a piece of duct tape, FBI.
