You think all these people who go through sex changes weren't treated like the sex they appeared to be? Little Max was being treated like a boy for his entire life yet he's unhappy with his body and wants to be a girl? Like WTF? His parents didn't teach him that he's a boy? No, he was always a girl trapped in a male body. And yes, you can say "I want to be a girl now", but you know you are a guy. If you'd go through the sex change you would still be a guy, just in a female body. You can't convince yourself that you are a girl on a subconscious level. It's imprinted permanently.

Maybe the idea the certain behaviors are innate just doesn't mesh well with people's concept of free will.
