let's launch all ISIS members into the sun

God as dumb as the guy was he didn't deserve that, even worse is that they probably did that horrific slow beheading shit on him.
I would at least tried to join ISIS if i was captured and then try to find a way out, if i couldn't get out i'd probably shoot a couple nutheads and die. Aren't they very accepting of outside assitance?
Him walking around dressed in a battle ready uniform armed with an AK47? Photographer, there's no way they would have believed that. If anything he really does look like a PMC mercenary. He's probably dead by now -snip, nevermind he's dead. RIP.- But jesus what a stupid move, what was he thinking?
God as dumb as the guy was he didn't deserve that, even worse is that they probably did that horrific slow beheading shit on him.
maybe they only do the beheading shit for shit like James Foley where they're "sending a message" and for more or less random execution they just kinda pop you once in the head I know what i'm saying is probably fucked up but i really wanna hope this dude didn't go through much pain

He doesn't even look like a fucking soldier. He's out of shape and clearly just an enthusiast. The guys interrogating him were assholes, just scaring the shit out of him by saying he was a soldier when it was obvious he isn't.
The ISIS folks are already idiots, it's no surprise they couldn't tell the difference between a soldier and a civi.

Or at least the video with him in seems to imply that he had a gun.

It's pretty much like if you made a fake suicide vest and then tried to walk into the FBI headquarters
Was this guy with anyone or was he just out there by himself?
Ugh I can't stand these pretend soldier types. This poor guy though, I still feel bad for him. :( If you want to be in the military so bad then just join it I guess. If you can't, then just stick to airsoft or pick up shooting at a range as a hobby. It's way safer. The real deal isn't what you think it's like.
Was this guy with anyone or was he just out there by himself?
I think he was with the FSA. When they ask him(in the video) why he has a gun, I think I hear him say that he "took it". Then they start calling him a thief and ask him where he took it from and he replies from a soldier. So one of those dudes probably got dropped and he picked it up?
Oh damn, now I feel awful. I thought they'd release him because he's obviously not a soldier.
What ISIS were you thinking of? When have they ever showed rationality or mercy?
Oh damn, now I feel awful. I thought they'd release him because he's obviously not a soldier.
Yeah because ISIS really cares whether people are in the military or not before they kill them.
I feel awful that he was killed and all. I do. But I can't say I'm surprised. He should have seen this was an awful idea. Still I'm not here to blame the victim. Its an awful thing to hear.
God as dumb as the guy was he didn't deserve that, even worse is that they probably did that horrific slow beheading shit on him.
Beheading is too tedious they only pull that out sometimes. They often just opt for a bullet to the head. Assuming that twitter is true. Guy sure was dumb, you can see in videos he posted shooting guns he has no idea what he is doing. Do they even let anyone they capture live? Considering most of them doesn't believe in their god.
Do they even let anyone they capture live? Considering most of them doesn't believe in their god.
If they can prove themselves to be valuable, like for instance ransom or prisoner exchange, then yes.
If they can prove themselves to be valuable, like for instance ransom or prisoner exchange, then yes.
True, forgot that, though they demand absurd amounts.
This is the same situation as this: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1237087 Why do people think so highly of the other guy, but find this one to be an idiot? I'm sure they're both aware of the risks involved, and that Mr. Yukawa got unlucky.
Totally different situation. The guy from that thread actually has been going to a variety of different warzones advocating for peace and showing pictures of the horrors of war. this is sad to me he's just an innocent japanese guy having (a little too much) fun with his hobby and suddenly just gets captured and beat to the ground. they are yelling at him and shit and he has no clue what's even going on -- and then to hear he was beheaded.. :(
hang in there, tupac the two golden soldiers of the west will save you
If I remeber correctly, Japan doesnt have a proper army, so no point really signing up.
Well, you know, except the SDF is the military. It might be smaller than the armies of many other nations (and legally cannot wage war), but it's still Japan's military and it is still exactly the same as signing up for the military in any other nation that isn't at war with anyone.
If I remeber correctly, Japan doesnt have a proper army, so no point really signing up.
Excuse me, even as a self defence force, they still have the equipment to invade another country. They have got 4 fucking Kongo class Aegis destroyer. And a heli carrier. You don't fuck with a Kongo class.
If I remeber correctly, Japan doesnt have a proper army, so no point really signing up.
Yeeeaaah, you remembered incorrectly. the JSDF is a very very real military, with the latest hardware and kit. They don't wage war for the simple reason of the US's treaty as the poster above stated, but they're a very real military. There's a reason the US has a few bases over there beyond the usual numbers.
This poor kid, he was probably totally disillusioned about what would happen.

He apparently was captured with a weapon and dressed in some sort of tactical clothing.
