That is commonly referred to as evolution, or proof of Darwin's theory.
I... I can not describe the intense dismay of reading something so inconceivably stupid. Here's a tip: DO NOT USE SOMETHING TO BACK UP YOUR ARGUMENT UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND IT.
What is it with people and not knowing what Evolution is? Why do these morons have some grand idea that Evolution covers every aspect of the universe like the formation of planets and the start of life and the ecosystem and shit? It's just animals evolving ffs.
I don't mind when people think either way on Global Warming (Oops, Climate Change).
What I do mind, is people who think some article, scientist or peer review proves it in the fullest.
People lie, statistics get strewn about, pretty graphs are drawn up to skew an issue, and peer reviews are dolled out on dollar bills. Stop going "OMG GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL/NOT REAL", it'd be better to argue what's actually in the efforts going forth to thwart it (Real or not). Global Warming or not, I have no problem with helping the environment, as long as my hard-earned cash isn't going towards needless bullshit or directly into the pockets of people who'll do nothing with it.
I'll gladly put forth a little of my own money to help clean up my neighborhood, but I'm not going to pull out even a penny for something as asinine as a "Green Golf-Cart".
I disagree, I feel it's a cycle that we have sped up slightly.
On the upside natural selection will kick in hard.
the world doesn't operate on how you feel
manufactroversy.
Best way to describe the whole situation.
You do realize this time about 2,000 years ago there was no Arctic, no cold weather, and Greenland was flourishing with plants and green life, right?
So, those ice core samples must all be invalid huh? Those penguins, polar bears, walruses, etc. must have adapted pretty rapidly huh?
i dont listen to scientists
i feel as a costume maker that my opinion is just as valid as a climatologist's
if you disagree you're ignorant
Okay lets clear this up.
Global Warming is very much real, there is good evidence for that.
True enough.
I disagree, I feel it's a cycle that we have sped up slightly.
You're mistaken. The "cycle" people refer to (and the one shown in the graph several posts above) is called a Milankovitch cycle and takes place over tens of thousands of years. It's caused by very gradual shifts in the Earth's orbit. In order for us to accelerate the Milankovitch cycles, we would have to speed up the earth's orbit by an incredible amount. That's obviously not happening. Global warming is caused by greenhouse gas emissions, which are unrelated to the earth's orbit.
So saying that we're "speeding up the cycle" would be like saying that a earthquake that causes a tidal wave is speeding up the cycle of tides going in and out.
On the bright side, I guess all the greenhouse gases weve created helped plug that hole in the o-zone layer that was supposed to destroy all life about 10-15 years ago, right?
Make up your mind!
Not enough o-zone = everything cooked alive
Too much o-zone = everything cooked alive

I really can't think of a response to this other than :downs:, it's that stupid

Because it totally works that way.

If you're not even going to try to hold an intelligent discussion, get out, if you would.
I suggest all climate deniers watch Greenman's videos here
He goes over pretty much all the myths and lies that surrounds climate change.

it's still there, however the depletion rate is now stabilized.

if you have taken a basic science course you would also know how dumb your statement is.
Global warming is real. The idea that humans are responsible for it is a farce.

ozone and CO2 are two totally different things please stop you're embarrassing yourself

Really, now?
Wow that looks pretty conclusive hey wait what's this

Zoom in on that right there

Oh so your graph is stupid
Because the graph from 1950's onward is a second graph. On this scale, you would be able to see it.
But why the tilt?
I fail to understand this whole "Omg global warming is so not true" consensus the general public has when just about all of the scientific world agrees that climate change is indeed real. Of course, this may have something to do with the 3 fucking fear mongering scientists who have made a career out of twisting facts for personal glory.
I don't deny we're going through a climate change. I do think it's a natural cycle though, not some human event. They've seen ice caps melt and freeze in cycles on planets like Mars even, and I doubt Mars has a C02 problem.
But why the tilt?
It's more dramatic.
I don't deny we're going through a climate change. I do think it's a natural cycle though, not some human event. They've seen ice caps melt and freeze in cycles on planets like Mars even, and I doubt Mars has a C02 problem.
Well, Mars' atmosphere is around 98% CO2, so yeah, they don't have a CO2 problem there. And it's also around one quarter the pressure of earth's atmosphere.
But due to it's location, it is extremely cold.
It's more dramatic.
Dramatic tilts, always relevant.

mars' atmosphere is made of CO2 and same with the ice caps (being made of CO2 ice)
(and venus has a CO2 atmosphere and it is hot enough to melt lead)
mars' atmosphere is made of CO2 and same with the ice caps (being made of CO2 ice)

My point is Mars goes through warming and cooling cycles on its own. Our planet is doing the same.

mars has a different rotational axis than the earth bro.
come on, these people are scientists, and there's pretty much a complete scientific consensus (that petition that was passed around was total crap because it allowed anyone with any degree to sign it). Every possible excuse has been accounted for, and the "it's a natural cycle" claim has already been debunked by links already posted in this thread.
My point is Mars goes through warming and cooling cycles on its own. Our planet is doing the same.
Mars's warming and cooling cycles are martian summer and winter, which are more extreme because it has a different rotational axis. The recent climb in temperature and c02 levels on earth is unaccounted in the normal cycles that the earth goes through, something you would already now if you read some of the damn links that have already been posted in this thread

no

Many scientists say it's a human-made thing, many say it's natural. Who knows for sure?
Like I said, judging by climate history, I'd say it's just a cycle (many scientists have said it was manyfold hotter a few thousand years ago than it is even today), but this is an opinion, though I do have history to back me up a bit.

Many scientists also say darwinian evolution never happened. Do you know what those scientists aren't? Evolutionary biologists. Do you know what the scientists that say AGW isn't happening aren't? Climatologists.
Many scientists say it's a human-made thing, many say it's natural. Who knows for sure?

no, it's not even like that.
here, go through all these studies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change#Surveys_of_scientists_and_scientific_literature
(don't complain about it being wikipedia, it's all properly sourced)
they all point to massive support for it being man-made amongst almost all branches of climatology
the "controversy" is overblown by the media
But why the tilt?
It's to symbolize the graph stumbling and falling over.

They also don't have life there
i want you to post and acknowledge that all of your points are being debunked gmod, in every single global warming thread, the deniers are always debunked, and they just ignore it, and stop posting until the next global warming thread, when they post the same crap they did the last time
