While I care about what happens to IW after this dies down Activision better not fucking taking the money that is due to them. That's the last thing we need...
Guess this is what they get for no dedicated servers?
no dedicated servers my life is ruined
Hardly. With MW2 selling so many copies, the higher-ups at IW are probably pretty loaded right now.
Although he may not be rich, he probably did get a good bit of money off the game. But still, did he really need to be fired?
They may have horribly neglected the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 but I much prefer Infinity Ward over Activision. Unlike Activision I never saw the CEO of Infinity Ward as a gigantic cunt with no real respect for his employees. So I hear they're going to release more COD games via different developers? Seems like the Activision thing to do, they love franchises that "have the potential to be exploited every year on every platform with clear sequel potential and have the potential to become $100 million franchises" - which is fine if the sequels don't suck and you're not sacrificing a decent series' reputation to do so.
ITT: "I don't like a game so we should kill the developers."
I actually blame most of MW2's problems on Activision, the development changes reek of their handling. I can't even imagine what caused a "Coup d'état" of sorts of the company, I didn't think it was that bad. Something is up.
I imagine the staff who were fired opposed the changes because they actually gave a damn about their series, and thus they were fired. Activision however do not, it's all about the profit for them.
Nah they are just pissed that BC2 is better than KARS4202 [editline]04:55PM[/editline] KARS420 2 is Knife and riot shield 420 2

"We just wanna make our games" and make money
When I read "Situation" i thought someone took hostages or something, obviously not.
Apparently, and this is merely rumor right now so I won't post news about it just yet. But apparently, the two guys that were fired were in breach of contract after it was discovered they were fed up with how Activision was pulling IW's strings when it came to the development of MW2. They weren't able to make the game as they wanted, it had to be done Activision's way or the highway. So they started talking to others at IW about leaving and forming their own development studio where they could make games as they wanted to without having to deal with Activision. IF that's true, feel free to lay off of the hate for IW when it comes to MW2, they may not have had much of any say in the matter afterall.

Everyone can figure out what will happen to IW and Activision for the low cost of $50!

IE: Do what we say and don't say shit unless we say so. He probably was grumbling about idly about leaving due to the increased uselessness in his eyes of his efforts to be an independent studio. I wouldn't blame him whatsoever, if I was running my own shop and some asshat comes in and demands I do things a different way i'd get disgruntled as well. It also could come back to the full circle that they are ringing their hands of him so they can just install a more 'cooperative' development lead. Who knows, the world is full of dirty secrets.
Infinity ward going down the crapper....another dick move by activision no doubt, i dont care about the extra info activision is a cunt and thats public knowledge ( or atleast it should be! )
Good job ruining a great developer, Activision.
