lol i just go get the pizza and bake it myself
Same here, fuck Papa John's.
Because 14 cents is going to make that much of an impact on pizza sales. Jesus dick, what a piece of shit.
Blame republicans all you want, the fact is Obamacare is bad for business, these guys don't have much of a choice in the matter now that Obama's been reelected.
when your owners were earning 51.940 million i think it's difficult to say obamacare is doing bad for business
unemployment is going down which means businesses are hiring and doing better. extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence.
My brother works for a papa johns, barely making enough to pay for his gas and bills, and he works full time. He won't be too happy about this.
i hate papa johns commercials, they're just like political campaign commercials. "today, papa john visited a family and gave them FREE PIZZA :) nobody else aint doin that no sir look at papa hes so friendly and cool"

Their revenues exceed a billion dollars, so I think it's fair to say that rising costs are an issue when their costs and expenses knock them down to 55 million in net income.
too bad Pizza Hut is ridiculously over priced. They sure make the commercials look tasty as hell though
If you have the coupons that they give you from a previous order it makes buying from there pretty cheap. Although living in Chicago I prefer to eat at the dozens of other better pizza places near me.

Pizza hut has specials running almost continuously for their on the menu large pizzas at 10 dollars.
Considering what you get, it's worth it over what dominoes offers. Not that dominoes is particularly terrible mind you. You get what you pay for at the end of the day. A 5 dollar pizza is a 5 dollar pizza.
Moral of the story:
Papa John's is run by a dick who doesn't care about his employees and you should support local business by getting pizza from the local pizza joint cause it's probably better, more authentic, and cheaper than a chain store.

Apparently not in Canada. Anything above generic pepperoni and cheese is retardedly overpriced.
So instead of waiting for something to happen, they are making something happen.
That's so fucking pointless it's unbelievable.
I prefer Little Caesers.
Delicious cheap Pizza with wonderful breadsticks <3

Their breadsticks (and pizza for that matter) coated in that garlic butter sauce are just amazing. And you can't argue with a $5 large pizza waiting for you to pull up to the window and take it.

Rich people supported the GOP in an extremely emotionally charged election.
GOP loses by an electoral landslide, and a couple million popular.
Angry rich people attack their workers to make a political statement.

"So instead of waiting for costs to rise, they try to avoid rising costs?"
Yes, that's how a business operates. Nobody here seems to even look at it from a business standpoint. I support Obamacare, but I'm not in denial about the fact that it can raise costs for a business. Their Net Income in 2011 as a percentage of total revenues was 4.6% They are a company that clearly has good cause to worry about rising costs, because such a large amount of revenues go to costs and expenses.
man papa john is such a fucking joke
i bet he's not even a real papa

This has absolutely nothing to do with the financials of his company.
it's not worth a few extra cents for people to have healthcare is it
This has absolutely nothing to do with the financials of his company.
It has to do with the post above mine, though.

Fair point
I thought you were posting it to fuel hate against him for a business decision.
I'm not ordering for Papa John's anymore in that case. I'll keep ordering from Dominoes and Pizza Hut. Dominoes is pretty affordable and tasty.
Really? Sheesh, why do people have to act so fucking dramatic over a new president? There's a lot of Papa Johns around here, looks like I won't be buying from them anymore and they just lost a custome. Thank god there's still Pizza Hut and Dominos around here.
Also, how many of you read the actual article linked from the source about his comments?
About a third of Papa John's employees are covered by the company's health insurance plan, although Schnatter said he has always wanted 100 percent of them on the plan. The rising costs of health insurance, he said, have been a deterrent.

"The good news is 100 percent of the population is going to have health insurance. We're all going to pay for it," he said, estimating the new law would cost the business $5 million to $8 million annually.

Schnatter said it was likely that some franchise owners would reduce employees' hours in order to avoid having to cover them.
"That's probably what's going to happen," he said. "It's common sense. That's what I call lose-lose."
So he didn't even fucking say "I'm going to cut hours", he said "Franchisers may cut hours".
Amazingly out-of-context.

In other words both the thread title and the article are incredibly misleading and basically just wrong in that regard.
Forget Papa Johns, and all other thick-trust sheepzas (Sheep Pizza, pizza for SHEEP PEOPLE!).
Buy thin crust, St. Louis style pizza. Sweet sauce and provel cheese, ultra thin crust, crispy and wonderful.
Just look at it, and tell me you'd rather have Papa Johns.

vs. the most boring and unappealing pizza you've ever seen:

I get Papa Johns for five bucks a pizza as part of my work-perks from the hotel, and I'd still rather cough up $15 to get some Stefanina's, or any other St Louis Style Master 'Za.

My pizzas I get from them are way better looking than that.
Still prefer Pizza Hut though. God damn
CEOs, stop having tantrums because you're going to actually have to pay taxes now.
It's just disappointing, really, that more people aren't aware of the experience of Saint Louis style pizza. I work at a hotel, and we get guests in from all over the country. If they ask for pizza delivery menus, I'll give them the Papa Johns menu, but I'll recommend the Saint Louis joint. It's a different experience, man. A holy one. And my guests are never disappointed. They go home and tell their friends about how Saint Louis is doing it right, and how all these nationwide pizza zombie factories, like Papa Johns and Pizza Hut, are butchering the artistic brilliance of pizza.
