Why pay for a service you can't use? That's just plain stupid.
i guess with netflix he could use mail ordering
I have unlimited data and I've never used more than 2 GB of data, and I use my phone a lot.
Considering the average nuclear family is 2-3 children and two adults, that's more than enough data for the lot. People who use like 10+ GB of data on their phones a month are outliers.
You obviously do not have teenagers.
Do you even know how much data Snapchat uses
I have several options, but Verizon FiOS is absolutely the best in my area.
I honestly don't know why so many people complain about Verizon. I use them, love their TV service, love the Internet service, and unplugged my home phone :V
I get consistently good speed, and awesome reliability.
We switched to FiOS after our Comcast line went for about 6 months with sporadic internet. It was awful :(
Its why I have Comcast :suicide:
We're basically forced to have comcast here, but luckily I live in like, the only place in the entire US where comcast doesn't suck completely, so long as you have lots of fucking money to throw around.
Isn't this how Rollerball started?
I still don't get how Comcast thinks 300GB a month is "more than enough" for a big family".
300GB would barely last me alone a week :v:

You answered your own question; there's competition so they can't be absolute shit or people will switch. The problem is in so many places there is no competition.

They disabled the cap a while back, at least in my area
Dear Verizon:
Fix your sh*t. Don’t blame your crappy Internet on us. You are being assholes to your customers. We gave you the tools to improve your Netflix connection speed so use them, dipsh*ts, or we will make your life a living hell. If you thought the buffering alerts were bad, wait until you see what we have in store for you next.
Get it together, Verizon.
Kisses,
Netflix
Netflix sounds like a Tarantino character.
To try to shift blame to use for performance issues arising from interconnection congestion is like blaming drivers on a bridge for traffic jams when you're the ones who decided to leave three lanes closed during rush hour.
Did Netflix just compare Verizon to Chris Christie's administration?
300GB would barely last me alone a week :v:
Do you just constantly watch 8k videos all the time or something?
You obviously do not have teenagers.

I have snapchat and I use it everyday. I just normally connect to Wi-Fi. I don't think the average person uses more than 2GB each, a 10 GB cap for a few people isn't really that bad.
Apparently there was a poll showing the average data usage is around 400MB
If I worked in Netflix's corporate offices, I'd demand $100,000 a month from Verizon, and Comcast. Failure to pay for Netflix service, would result in unauthorized access by all verizon/Comcast subscribers.
One of two things would happen, either everyone would leave these ISPs, or stand up and tell Comcast/Verizon to fuck off and pay da monies.
Also, I live in an area that has only Comcast/Verizon/Level3 (Netflix's ISP), so it's kinda difficult.
It's nice having Netflix on the side of the customers. And the best part is, it's the biggest drain on bandwidth, so it has the biggest pull with ISPs. I love it
i love how they were able to tell verizon to fuck off without reminding verizon that they are verizon's largest single customer and they already pay the largest share of verizon's profits
Do you just constantly watch 8k videos all the time or something?
When I'm doing work for school i pretty much always have something streaming, whether it's youtube, netflix, twitch, etc etc. and that's not even accounting for picture heavy websites and browsing galleries and stuff like that. Downloads, streaming, and all that add up pretty fast.
It's nice having Netflix on the side of the customers.
Oh, please. Netflix is on the side of whoever costs them the least money and guarantees the most profit, and right now that means fighting tooth and nail for net neutrality principles that would ensure that they never need to pay additional fees. They're not doing this for you, they're doing it for themselves.
If you really think Netflix is any less a soulless corporation than Verizon, you've fallen for PR.
Oh shit, will we see an actual internet fight?
Netflix sounds like a Tarantino character.
and then Verizon gets its face blown off
if only
I still don't get how Comcast thinks 300GB a month is "more than enough" for a big family".
You're complaining about 300gb? I get 100gb with Telstra and told it's enough and we have a 4 people family
God damn I'd kill for 300gb
If Netflix actually manages to make a change then that would be amazing.

Well, they still mail you dvds
I love official letters with a biting edge.
Here's something that's the same... but it's not, because it's different:
