Why? Why do you like some rich group of people who do nothing but get treated better than others. I realize there are tourism benefits but seriously.
I think Reginal D. Hunter said it best when he talked about our class system, americans just wont get it.
if you are currently alright with the idea of stripping the wealth from someone and putting them into the real world(not saying it's good or bad), then the royal family is a pretty benign target.
throw some bankers and ceo's out first. the royal family doesn't really oppress people that much anymore.
Of coarse. If I was in charge Earth would be a single socialist state.
Worshipped like Gods? Jesus Christ, you are more retarded than I actually thought.
Instead of throwing insults you could counter my argument.
I nearly choked and died when I read John Freeman.
But yeah, stop Argentina. We'll just come over and give you a slap again.

Socialist countries can have monarchies, you know.

it just seems you have a lot of anger towards the royal family in particular when all that happened is a piece of land being named after the queen. the name doesn't really matter, what matters is whether the land they are occupying is technically argentine or not.
i think naming a piece of land after the monarchy is silly at best, but it's just a name.

that goes against the whole idea of socialism.
it's like saying "a democracy can have a dictator" no not really that kind of defeats the point of democracy.

I do and I hate the whole idea of monarchs. I'm probably overreacting but it annoys me every time they get more recognition at all.

What of the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Spain then? They're semi-socialist and have royals.
I do and I hate the whole idea of monarchs. I'm probably overreacting but it annoys me every time they get more recognition at all.
Why? Sounds like your jealous and don't understand what they actually do for the country.
What of the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Spain then? They're semi-socialist and have royals.
none of those countries are socialist. they are social democracies(as a communist would call them, corporatists or state capitalists). they have taken the idea of social justice and twisted it to fit an idea of private ownership and hierarchical rule by an upper class.
socialism is against arbitrary class by nature, a monarchy cannot exist within a socialist society because a monarchy is an arbitrary class of people.
Why? Sounds like your jealous and don't understand what they actually do for the country.
jealousy has nothing to do with it. They deserve no more rights or anything then anybody else.
when I first read the title I thought Queen Elizabeth Land was a theme park
I hope they start a war in the antarctic.
SNOWBALL FIGHT WOOOOOO!

Illegal, unfortunately :(

snowball fights or war in the antarctic?
jealousy has nothing to do with it. They deserve no more rights or anything then anybody else.
What extra rights do they have then?

I suppose you're right, I probably got my terminologies mixed up.
What extra rights do they have then?
In the Netherlands the King is inviolate as per the constitution, and the ministers are responsible for everything he does or says. This means he cannot be prosecuted for any action taken as King, but at the same time means the King has no real power; effectively the ministers decide everything the King does or says, where he goes even.

Italy still has Royals. Hell, it would be better off if they still had power :v:
I'm argentinian.... But I am not really angry ._.
Go on Argentina! Try it! I dare you! See what happens!
Because they're treated like gods. They only sit there on piles of money in a lavish estate doing nothing but touring the world, spitting out expensive food and wasting tax money.
Maybe I don't see the value in 'traditional worship'.
Due to the land the royal estate owns, they actually make a profit for the taxpayer, as the voluntarily donate all of the money they make on the land to the taxpayer.
Fun fact.
Argentina, fix your country first, then war with powerful nations.
John Freeman? Seriously?
I hope no one shoots him with wepon.
Is there any particular reason why they're arguing over this? It's a chunk of an entirely useless continent, just go and name some other unknown sector 'Better than the Falklands Zone' and be done with it. If Argentina keeps making stupid quarrels like this, we'll end up with the Queen Elizabeth Land Conflict.
Since when did the glorious empire have to answer to you bloody argies?
