With presumably another $50 season pass.
I would have laughed my ass off if they gave game balance as a reason. Since with the blue grey filter, it's kinda hard to see people compared to with it off.
I loved battlefield 3 the first 20-30h I played it...then came the patches and a bunch of other stuff happened to the game. I stopped playing for a while because of school and stuffs and when I came back it was not the game I bought the first time. I'm not sure what it was but it just felt different and weird to play. Might have been because I did not buy premium and was as good as yesterdays garbage in EAs eyes.
My favorite game series of all time has been fucked up.
Bluefield 3
Also I like how DICE defends their decisions calling it their unique style, and then release Close Quarters to appeal to CoD Players which nulls the entire appeal of Battlefield in general and only serves to make Battlefield LESS unique
Don't even get me started on the latest one where they try to win over DayZ type players.
You guys are pretty fucked up.
Prior to release: Wow, great graphics! I love the visual style.
During release: Game looks great! This really is made for the PC market; cutting-edge visuals, not dumbed-down for consoles! It uses all four cores of my machine!
After some dude hacked out a filter: What, there was a filter on it?! Remove, remove! BF3 sucks with a filter! It's so gross!
seriously, the fuck.
I don't understand why the colour palette is such a big deal? Yeah, a choice is nice but I can't understand why it would stop you from playing or anything.
It looks really fucking bad compared to non-color corrected games they have done in the past.

BF3

I see absolutely no rationale behind this:
A) Doesn't affect gameplay, nor creates imbalance between players (they already told us this)
B) Doesn't affect (DLC) sales
C) Easy to implement
D) They already promised this to the community so a backlash is inevitable
And don't tell me they did just because EA/DICE are cunts. That's not how things work.

i have bad news
ea/dice will never admit anything is flawed in any of their games
am I the only one that likes the blue cc?

What the metro ACTUALLY looks like:

I'm all for having a sense of style but this is overkill.
am I the only one that likes the blue cc?
I think it ties the visuals together in a very nice and cinematic way.I'd also like to point out that the vast majority of you admit to not even playing the Goddamn game.
Brown... Blue... What's next green? That's some matrix shit right there.
Well if anyone needs me I'll be playing BF2142 (last good battlefield game)
bad company 2 was good what are you talking about.
If everyone cares so much why not just use the BF3 Colour Tweaker?

because you have the chance of being banned
Not buying BF4, I'm quitting competitive shooters for now.
Battlefield? Competitive? Eh. Battlefield seems pretty casual to me.
I honestly used to like this game, but now its pretty dull. I'm not even that good and its still boring. This move just slaps people in the face.
DICE better get their shit together or they will end up like Pandemic or any of the others that had the misfortune to align themselves with EA.
because you have the chance of being banned
That was one DICE employee saying that on his twitter. Those tweets have been deleted. At most you'd get a PB kick for corrupted files and there have been no reports of anyone getting banned for it.
My main problem with the colour correction is the weird balance of colours actually begins to strain my eyes after a while.
Well shit, i was thinking about getting premium, but fuck them now
"As a studio, it is extremely important for us at DICE to have a unique identity in our games, not only from a gameplay perspective, but visually as well. While we appreciate that some players might want a slightly different look to the game, we are proud of the visual identity of Battlefield 3 and do not wish to change it."
This whole "its my PERFECT game! you cant change anything because you'll ruin MY artistic interpertaions!11111111" philosophy is exactly why modding tools were never released.
Brown... Blue... What's next green? That's some matrix shit right there.
Fallout 3 already used liberal amounts of green filtering. I think all we need is a red game to go full circle and achieve a full range of possible color.
Cunts. Not much else to say.
I don't understand why they would announce one thing and then literally do a full 180 and change what they said. Why?
Also, I do think there is a large amount of over exaggeration with the color filter. I don't like it at all, but it's not so bad that I absolutely hate the game with every fiber of my being. People in this thread make it seem as if the color correction is literally ruining the game. It's bad, but come on guys, don't even pretend that this was such a huge game ruining issue until recently when we figured out how good the game looks without the filter. There's been loads of complaints about the overdone effects (dirty eyes, lens flares, and CC), but until about two weeks ago people weren't boycotting the series because of them.
Same team that made Mirror's Edge?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah but it actually fit in Fallout 3's style, with BF3 it doesn't.

Needs more white
Not buying BF4, I'm quitting competitive shooters for now.
Hey don't be like that, BF3 are terrible examples.
Look at Quake or Counter Strike or...
fuck it, look at Tribes too.
What the hell happened to DICE?
