By the sounds of things it'll be based on user demand. So if like 1,000,000 people are subscribed to ESPN it'll cost $10 or whatever If 5,000,000+.. price could drop to $5 as they'd be able to get more ad revenue. I'd love to see an 'ads disabled' subscription for an additional $9/month or something.
Ouch, that would be more expensive than regular TV then. Imagine owning 16 channels for $80 a month. I think that DVR needs to become cheaper, it weeds out the TV shows that I am not interested in.
if it cost $5 for a Normal channel would it cost something like $10 for HBO . ?
Because this has not actually been officially announced, nobody knows how much each channel is going to cost if this is even real.
Wasn't intel rumoured to also start shipping their CPU with a mobo only? I'm not going to start caring until there is an official announcement.
Intel knows they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they did that. I think they said that change was going to be only for OEMs.
Now all I need is Google Fiber to come to my town and I can flip the bird to time warner for being so costly.
If i could subscribe to like History, Discovery, Cooking, Food Network, Travel Channel, Cartoon Network and maybe HBO i'd be set and not need anything else. I sincerely hope they are doing this.
Shit though. Storage wars and storage kings are on different channels :/
What would they fill ad space with? Since shows are 22 - 42 minutes, it'd be hard to keep up with when not aligned to the hour.
There's no ads on danish national TV, it works out pretty well. And who cares if they're aligned anyway, I'd rather have some odd numbers than ads.
I'm perfectly happy with Netflix + VPN that allows me to view the contents of Netflix in the US and I can also access hulu and everything from Sweden. My TV has a netflix app so I rarely watch regular tv anymore.
I feel sorry for Americans. Our ads are literally just a few ads every 1/4 of an hour or so, each set about 2 mins long where we can get drinks and talk with the family. We usually just pause it and then skip to the end of the ads.
