OSX has safari and most Linux distros have Firefox. I don't get this
Someone explain why this analogy is flawed.
Because Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Vivaldi are dust. Their work is public domain now. I mean, that's not the most major flaw of your awful, awful analogy, but it's a pretty big one in terms of comparison.

If you don't want public domain then include some other random things. Point out what else is wrong with it. As it currently stands all you've said is that it's terrible and not explained why.
iPods don't really dominate at the current time. That isn't relevant.
What part of consider it hypothetical did you not read?
I picked those because they are free. If you don't want public domain then include some other random things.
They'd need to be songs created by the producer of the media device in question- which doesn't happen- that are free, and the equivalent of the other browsers would have to be other songs created by producers of other media devices. The problem with your analogy is that the producer of the media device doesn't benefit from including public domain music because the public domain music isn't something they produced.

it doesn't matter whether the something-or-other is freeware or anything like that. they got fined because they said they'd do something, and then they didn't do it
Someone explain why this analogy is flawed.
no you explain how thats even a fucking analogy microsoft agreed to do this as part of their larger anti-trust lawsuit and they failed to hold on their promise so the EU had to fine them
no you explain how thats even a fucking analogy microsoft agreed to do this as part of their larger anti-trust lawsuit and they failed to hold on their promise so the EU had to fine them
I'm saying the agreement was fucking absurd to begin with. The broke the agreement, and are getting fined. I don't have a problem with that particularly. Enforce the law, or change it. Pick one. I have a problem with the agreement even going through in the first place. That's the context of the analogy, or any other thing I could come up with.
The problem with your analogy is that the producer of the media device doesn't benefit from including public domain music because the public domain music isn't something they produced.
Microsoft didn't develop firefox, chrome or opera. This statement makes absolutely zero sense.
I have a problem with the agreement even going through in the first place.
well microsoft thought it was a good idea i guess
Microsoft didn't develop firefox, chrome or opera. This statement makes absolutely zero sense.
They developed IE, which is what they were implying.
well microsoft thought it was a good idea i guess
They were effectively forced into it from what I remember. The EU was talking of barring them from being able to sell products within it's borders if they didn't agree to it. I remember saying that the whole thing was beyond fucking stupid several years ago. I mean, if your choices are, include something in your product that you don't want to (for reasons ranging across the entire spectrum of legitimate and illegitimate), and being barred from selling your product entirely, that doesn't seem like an overly difficult choice to make.
I guess you weren't here for the past decade.
lol oh just stop if YOU were here you'd know IE isn't as shitty.
You installed Windaws 8,that is your first mistake
You registered on Facepunch, that is your first mistake. (then you posted)
Microsoft didn't develop firefox, chrome or opera. This statement makes absolutely zero sense.
Yes, Microsoft didn't develop firefox, chrome, or opera. You'll note that that's why they include internet explorer and only internet explorer. Y'know, the thing which is advantageous to include in order to block out competition?
