A large proportion of their participants have been doing that since the start.
Bitching is a word to ridicule someone with actual, legitimate complaints to protest.
They still knew what they wanted to do back in October. It's been almost 4 months. In that 4 months, they have totally lost focus and have done nothing productive other than what I said a few posts back (loiter, vandalize and trespass), and bitch a lot.
The goals are still apparent and the fact the public is still talking about income inequality means they're still having an effect [editline]31st January 2012[/editline]
Bitching is a word to ridicule someone with actual, legitimate complaints to protest.
Income disparity isn't legitimate?
Income disparity isn't legitimate?
When did I say or even imply that? I was explaining how "bitching" is a word only to describe someone you whose arguments you don't like.
The goals are still apparent and the fact the public is still talking about income inequality means they're still having an effect
Pretty sure that discussion started long before Occupy, and would have continued if they had not come into existence.
Kind of hard to support a group of people that loiter, trespass and vandalize for no real reason.
It's kinda hard to support the groups of people they are protesting against too, but noone is making threads about that.
Kind of hard to support a group of people that loiter, trespass and vandalize for no real reason.
I'm sure Egyptian President Mubarak said the same thing :v:
noone is making threads about that.
What?
Bitching is a word to ridicule someone with actual, legitimate complaints to protest.
They're complaining about wealth distribution. Well; the only people they have been hurting in their protests (ironically) - is small businesses. Therefore my ridiculing their movement is deserved.
They're complaining about wealth distribution. Well; the only people they have been hurting in their protests (ironically) - is small businesses. Why don't they split into two halves, having each spending 12 hours on the spot and the rest somewhere else, sleeping and stuff, and then always swap?
Why don't they split into two halves, having each spending 12 hours on the spot and the rest somewhere else, sleeping and stuff, and then always swap?
That would cut in half the number of visible protestors all the time. You need the most you can get all in there protesting all at once for the best effect.
I think that's completely unethical to make them stay up like that just to continue protesting. Making arrangements to sleep offsite is an okay idea but making people stay awake like that is just cruel, in my opinion.

They're trying to force them to go away. The police want them to sleep - somewhere else.
Yeah, that and they are honestly doing absolutely nothing. They're just getting media coverage and looking like lazy fuckbags.
What are they supposed to do? They're protesters, they're protesting and getting coverage and knowledge spread. They can't wave a magic wand and change the legislation.
What are they supposed to do? They're protesters, they're protesting and getting coverage and knowledge spread. They can't wave a magic wand and change the legislation.
They can certainly have more legislative influence than what they're currently doing. Other groups are much more effective than these morons.
They can certainly have more legislative influence than what they're currently doing. Other groups are much more effective than these morons.
The occupy protesters deserve better than to be called morons. You can challenge the validity of the movement or the effectiveness of the message they try to deliver, but outright insulting people who are protesting in the most diplomatic way possible is wrong on so many levels.
Why the double standard If one Occupy being violent makes them all violent, then one Occupy being victimized makes them all victims
It's not a double standards at all. Violent actions in Oakland reflect on the Occupy Movement nationwide and violent actions by the Oakland PD reflect on Police nationwide.
Not when you invade a building and smash it to hell, you aren't.
I have heard of people there for the right reasons and the wrong, I have also seen undercover cops infiltrating and causing unrest with them and instigating others.
Better than what's going on in Oakland.
What is their current agenda?
To promote the problem of financial inequality [editline]31st January 2012[/editline] I think Zeke said it in another thread perfectly: Facepunch (as a hivemind :downs:) calls for rhetorical revolution and insane political gambits all the time, then when people sit in a park and exercise their rights we downplay them and their cause.
So do you now not consider them all to be the same or what
wow you just punched that guy in the balls
Pussies, barely lasting through one night. :v:
Pretty sure that discussion started long before Occupy, and would have continued if they had not come into existence.
The mainstream media wholly neglected to mention it until Occupy. [editline]31st January 2012[/editline]
They aren't sticking to their agenda for shit.
pretty soon your scrambling to discredit Occupy movements is just going to be about how their shoes don't match or something I thought they didn't have a valid agenda, faze? Or are they not sticking to it? Or what? Pick something

Whether it is still valid, and whether they are still sticking to the original agenda are two different things.
Yeah, that and they are honestly doing absolutely nothing. They're just getting media coverage and looking like lazy fuckbags.
Because they ARE...?
god i hate the protestors so much!!! STOP PROTESTING SHIT goddamn
fuck them for exercising a constitutional right
yes how dare they go outside and give up comfort just to bring awareness to an issue. i'm gonna sit at home on my computer and pick holes in them because i'm full of hate but have nothing important to say.
