The truth is, uneveness happen in outside events every time and I doubt they were beyond the norm.

The truth is, unseasonally high temperatures hit the mountains, but the snow making capacity was there to keep the games going. The snow was soft, but the competitions were still good. The courses were second to none, the venues were second to none. From what I observed, soft snow meant a harder competition.
