Well you guys are all pissing and moaning about something that the democrats and Obama precedented?
Which precedent? The precedent of attempting to compromise by putting up a moderate candidate? The precedent of using a last ditch option only after literally all other options had been exhausted instead of jumping right to the "nuclear" option from the get go? The one that the SCOTUS confirmation process be left untouched? Context is important.

There are many other people that Trump could have put in that would make all the liberal heads explode. If anything the republicans are smarter than the dems in 2013 because they aren't gonna pussy foot around and waste there time letting all the filibusters go on. They are gonna take action and do what they need to do to help the American.

Nuking the one method that gave the minority a voice literally right out of the door is a good and smart thing even though several prominent Republicans have said they'll probably regret it later? "I know pointing this loaded gun at my foot to prove a point will probably hurt later but I haven't got time for things like compromise!" You haven't given a single actual response to any point anyone has made other than "But Obama!" or "The Republicans are just eager do help America!" and then throwing in something wanking off the Republicans or Trump.
Also, there wasn't use of the nuclear option in 2005. :goodjob:
They may not have used it, but they created it. Maybe it's time to put it away so that it can no longer be used by either side, given its implications. Very fitting that it's called the "nuclear option" in that regard.
this isn't really as intense or unprecedented as everyone is thinking right now. 2 sitting justices on the SCOTUS didn't meet a 60 vote threshold
Because Obama only banned visas from one country for 6 months and never made a campaign promise to institute a Muslim ban. You're just strawmanning random shit instead of actually making an argument. None of this shit even has anything to do with the current discussion other than you going "B-b-b-b-but Obama!".
And furthermore, it wasn't even a ban, they slowed down the visa process for Iraqis so they could review the screening procedures, because in 2011 the FBI found fingerprints linking an Iraqi immigrant, who'd been living in Kentucky for years, to some IEDs made in Iraq in 2006. The Obama Administration explicitly stated it was never meant to be a "ban." Meanwhile, Trump's immigration ban had the explicit intent of gettin' rid of those scary Muslims, based on no evidence whatsoever, only fearmongering and pandering to southern racists who still think the Ft Lauderdale shooter was a "Middle Eastern terrorist" and not actually a Puerto Rican army vet from Alaska because they can't tell brown people apart. Repeating the same tired-out misinformation and false equivalences and "BUT OBAMA!" will not make them true. Back on topic, pointing to 2013 and saying "but the Democrats!!" is meaningless whataboutism and doesn't make this any less of a move towards one-party tyranny.

I understand, you guys are all still pissy about that. But the republicans have the majority and they are getting shit done which I unfortunately cannot say the dems did when they had the majority. I'm surprised how upset everyone is about action be taken in the senate. It was deadlock for so long and everyone hated it and hated the repubs for it and now they are finally getting shit done and you guys are even more upset about it. Like I have said many times, the precedent was set by Obama and the dems and the republicans are merely doing what the democrats did in 2013.
Do you understand what you're arguing about or are you just repeating what you heard your dad ranting about at the dinner table?
Are you unable to think of any counter argument? Is that why you resort to childish insults? Come on man, I thought you were better than that.
Are you unable to think of any counter argument? Is that why you resort to childish insults? Come on man, I thought you were better than that.
I hope you understand you are cheering for the country becoming undemocratic and for advancing down the path to totalitarianism. But, sure, keep repeating that the GOP is getting things done swiftly as if that's a good thing. The US government was built to be slow; the GOP took that to the absolute extreme and tried to keep Obama's government from getting anything done. The federal government is barely able to get anything done at this point because the Republican party has made it clear that they will never work with the Democrats. The Dems tried to compromise throughout Obama's tenure and all they got for it was their hands slapped away. They could have just acted like dictators and rammed things through no matter what the Republicans said, but they didn't. The GOP is now doing this, and you're saying that's a good thing. Listen to yourself.

One thing I am fed up with in this country is this blind devotion to partisan politics, everyone just takes the virtue of their side and the evil of the other for granted.
Are you unable to think of any counter argument? Is that why you resort to childish insults? Come on man, I thought you were better than that.
A counter-argument actually requires an argument to being with. You just keep repeating the same shit about "republicans getting shit done" without actually addressing any points people have brought up or even really making an argument.
Are you unable to think of any counter argument? Is that why you resort to childish insults? Come on man, I thought you were better than that.
You wouldn't be cheering if the Dems did this so your hypocrisy is as blatant, and as hollow as possible
Time to start cashing those checks (and balances), guys. One party rule is inevitable.
