I wonder how much it costs EA to buy and run the servers to keep the game online only. I wonder if it's more expensive than the loss in sales.

No surprise that EA fucked up yet another big Maxis title, I pretty much stopped buying from EA altogether after spore and the sims 3.

EA has presumably seen the huge amounts of people who dislike their DRM, quite how an itemised list of a few of them is going to change their mind is beyond me.
