‘Israel to Give Obama 12 Hours Notice on Attacking Iran’
You might think that I'm pulling this out of my ass, but I'm just gonna throw my word here.
I've heard, from someone in the IDF (someone who I believe is a reliable source) that the American government assured Israel that if anything is going to go down, the US will land the first strike on Iran. Now, I can't be sure if that is 100% reliable, or provide any evidence for this, so take it as you will. But it kind of makes sense if you think about it. Israel doesn't want to strike Iran first, it would lead to conflict with a country that has a lot of military power. With the US providing first strike, the Iranian attention would not go towards Israel.
It really won't matter. Iran would probably attack Israel anyways simply because of how much they hate Israel and know that the US allies with them. If Iran went on the offensive their goal would be to most likely take out the nearest threat so that the US doesn't use it as a staging area. Good luck with that though, Iran may be flopping their dick about, but I don't think it'll go that much further. Especially with the US Military being so close by already.
why doesn't israel go bother someone else
like canada

when's the last time we actually got oil from a foreign war
last I checked oil prices have skyrocketed since 9/11 so it's doubtful that american soldiers are being sent overseas just to grab as many barrels of oil as they can and come back
I wonder if the UK will get involved.
I hope people would protest against it.
I hope people would protest against it.
Involvement in the Middle East has lost its support worldwide for the most part. I'm sure the UK and most EU nations would protest involvement. America would look incredibly stupid if they ever got involved.

Israeli officials told visiting USS Chief Joint of Staffs Martin Dempsey that it would give President Barack Obamano more than 12 hours notice if and when it attacks Iran, The LondonTimes reported Sunday. The Netanyahu government also will not coordinate with the United States an attack on the Islamic Republic, according to the report, the latest in a number of suposed scenarios concerning cooperation or lack of it between Jerusalem and Washington. It is left to speculation whether the rumors are based on facts or are leaked by officialsto mask the possibility of secret military coordination. The London Times said its sources explained that that Israel fears that President Obama would try to torpedo an Israel attack if more notice were given because he is concerned that Iran will respond by blocking the Strait of Hormuz, sparking a rise in the price of oil that could cripple Western economies. If the attack were to occur in the next 10 months, it would put President Obama in a tight spot on the eve of his bid for re-election.President Shimon Peres told Dempsey, "I am sure that in this fight [against Iran] we will emerge victorious. It is a fight that does not belong exclusively to the United States or Israel, but a global struggle to create a safe world for all peoples.”Dempsey, on his first official visit to Israel, was wined and dined by Defense Minister Ehud Barak and IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gants, who went so far as to arrange an IDF orchestra rendition of song made famous by Frank Sinatra, one of Dempsey’s favorite singers.Dempsey tried to play down the postponement of what was billed as the largest-ever joint military drill between the Israeli and American armies, involving thousands of U.S. Army soldiers.Published reasons for the delay have ranged from budgetary constraints, logistical problems to a signal from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that he distrusts President Obama’s commitment to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.Dempsey maintained that the delay, which was announced by Israel, will give both countries more time to prepare and “achieve a better outcome.”The top American general left Israel on Friday, before the Sabbath began.[/release]
why doesn't israel go bother someone else

the fuck do we have to offer
"yeah, here's some maple syrup and take the oil sands which are already fucked anyway."
I think Israel and the US should just stay the fuck away from Iran, it's like watching an overprotective parent letting their mischievous kid poke a nervous dog with a stick.
I just wish that Israel wasn't the bully of the middle east..
Yeah, but they didn't openly admit at any nuclear program of any kind. Israel knew that Syria and Iraq can't just say "why did you bomb our nuclear facilities" because that would be admitting they have nuclear facilities. Iran already admitted to it, sort of, so they have nothing to lose.
Im pretty sure it known they had nuclear programs at the time. Iraq purchased the nuclear reactor from France.
I just wish that Israel wasn't the bully of the middle east..
Iran and Israel are both bullies in the middle east. They are competing over who can be the biggest bully. Luckily for Israel, they have an older brother that will beat up Iran for them.

That doesn't prove shit. I bought like...12 nuclear reactors just yesterday. It doesn't mean I have any nuclear program or facility. I just collect the shit.

Low oil prices for the consumer have never been the goal of oil grabs.
Or we could aid neither and attack both.
or we could go there and slap everyone upside their head
Low oil prices for the consumer have never been the goal of oil grabs.
are shortages the goal of oil grabs or are you going to tell me that the american government is taking oil and hiding it to inflate prices, with no evidence of this happening, with no motive for it to happen
are shortages the goal of oil grabs or are you going to tell me that the american government is taking oil and hiding it to inflate prices, with no evidence of this happening, with no motive for it to happen
The government doesn't "take the oil". The government goes in there to give contracts to oil companies that lobbied congress for the right to utilize the oil.
[editline]22nd January 2012[/editline]
And yea, then those oil companies go on to artificially inflate the price.
is this all in the realm of conspiracy theories or are you going to prove this to me
I hope they don't attack.
WW3
WW3
more like ww5
is this all in the realm of conspiracy theories or are you going to prove this to me
It's pretty hard to follow the money trails to actually prove it. However, give me a few hours and I'll see if I can do enough research to show you.

More like no one cares enough about those countries (yet) to start a global war over. Maybe when oil is a lot harder to find.
i have spoken!!!!!!!!
I would rather the U.S. help the Syrian people, because Bashar Al-Assad is crazy plus he looks like Mr.Bean.

he looks like a chimp not a bean
Mr. Bean looks like a chimp.
Believe me, religion has absolutely zero to do with this conflict. It's not even a peripheral issue. This is all about regional power projection politics. The US wants Israel to be the biggest, baddest dog in the Middle East. Iran getting nukes would kind of make that less than perfect.
Exactly. Israel is US friendly, if Israel is the biggest power in the ME, the US can - effectively - assert their dominance over the region through them.
That gives Obama just enough time to do absolutely nothing.
That gives Obama just enough time to do absolutely nothing.
Nonsense!
I'm certain that 12 hours is more than enough time for Obama to turn his TV onto a news channel covering such an attack, if it were to happen!
