I might do this because i'm sick of my account name being lineridergod11
[editline]1[/editline]
actually couldn't i make a google + with my screen name, then link it? Technically it could be a free account name change.
On Google you're allowed three name changes every two years, so be careful with what you choose/if you want to go back at a later time.
First name: Say
Last name: Tun
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who is aware that corporations are amassing hundreds of data files on me, and simply doesn't give a shit.
It's not like I mind. It's only used for ad data, and I just got addblocker, which oddly enough has a release for Google Chrome.
not really they just want to push their way underrated and underused social network into everything
The only thing this is good for are gimmick accounts based off characters or some shit.
I think I prefer to be anonymous. If people who know me saw my account, I'd be a social outcast with only few friends. That's what Poland is like after all.

I don't even use Adblock. Let them have their 2 cents every time I open a page.
Remember when we were taught not to give out our names on the internet? Guess that went out the window.
Only names I use on the internet are from cartoon shows (Fred Flinstone and what not) unless it's something that requires me to use my real name i.e Amazon.
I'm recently pursuing clip editing in newsreels and sports, so I can actually use the real name function on my professional account to my advantage once I upload some to Youtube. As for my personal Youtube, i'll just skip it.
This crap won't be optional in the future.
Just like the "optional" but required youtube profile templates that suck balls.
In the whole Google history, using your real profile details is a must, so this will be necessary for youtube.
I'm not bothered by the fact that it's my real name.
The biggest problem here is that I know people by their username/nickname, and not their real name.
YouTube has historically had the worst comments on the internet. I don't mind the change.
I can't reply to anybody on Youtube
Do you HAVE to do this stupid shit?

Anonymity is important on YouTube and Google knows it.
I changed my google name to Johnny Anon
Fuck you google.

I've seen others replying and it seems broken on my end...
I clicked no and chosen to close my Google+ account as I wasn't using it anymore.
My youtube channel name is already my full name.
trail blazing
I decided to do it, my username was already ZacharyCraft2007, now it is just Zachary Craft.
do they remember what happened when blizzard tried the same shit?
so how do I do this shit to reply to people?
welll looks like i gotta migrate to vimeo for good, haha choke on a fat one google
I'm honestly more surprised that the internet(facepunch in general) is not more outraged about this. I'm fucking pissed. I'm on the internet for the anonymity. If I feel like trolling someone without consequences then I go to the internet. Not to mention that this is potentially dangerous. With Facebook plus YouTube real names, it'd be way too easy to track someone down. I don't comment on YouTube videos as it is but if I feel the need to, I don't a bunch of random people knowing who I am. Seriously fuck Google for this.
Google are dicks, they asked for more information for my Google merchant account randomly after I had it for a long time and I complied but they went and suspended it requesting more information, I really hope they approve of the documents I submitted because they have over £350 of my money and I'm overdrawn by £100 and the dick head bank is probably going to go ahead and add a £50 charge to that.
Well I can't comment anymore

except adblockplus also protects you from malicious malware-injecting ads aswell
Has anyone else found after declining them name change that you can't reply to comments any more? I can write new ones, but the reply button just straight-up doesn't work.
all new accounts have to use this. it's terrifying, quite frankly
Good thing I use my real name for everything anyway.
Knowing Youtube, this will be mandatory within a matter of weeks.
