• North Korean soldiers defect to China fueling fears of imminent military clash

In a way I kinda understand why the Chinese send defectors back, because they're trying to fend off a war on their doorstep. China could defeat NK by it's self, true, but war is bad news for nearly everyone.
Oh man I remember passing through North Korea, the roads are just fucking empty all the time.
Oh man I remember passing through North Korea, the roads are just fucking empty all the time.
You've been to NK?
Oh man I remember passing through North Korea, the roads are just fucking empty all the time.
Lies
I'm just saying that both countries are major threats to the world and it would be nice if they both hurt each other in some way if there was a conflict. Of course I know that China would obliterate North Korea.
NK may be in pretty poor shape but their don't underestimate their army
NK may be in pretty poor shape but their don't underestimate their army
Unlike the DMZ, North Korea keeps a lighter military presence on the NK-PRC border. I mean they're more concerned about their own people crossing the Yalu River than from a PLA invasion force.
This is crossing the line.
Well, while right now they have #1 by the balls and they like that, it's not been like that always and in truth we're waging an espionage conflict and conflict of cultural, economic, and political influence in Asia with China. The only reason why this isn't a major thing to the public and hasn't gone into a cold war is because we were united in 2001 under common goals and are still today- since then we've become close trading partners, but we don't need to be anymore. AND STUFF
That pretty much sums it up people, it's funny how people here still post "China is an superpower?"

You gotta be kidding me :v: I bet they stole it from some nintendo game
So because I decide to affiliate my self with a political party I'm automatically restrained to what the majority of the group believes?
Yes. If I had a nazi flag as my avatar, some people might be inclined to believe that I may be affiliated with a certain group of goose stepping white supremacists.
Americans have the mindset that China needs us as much as we need them based around goods trades. That's not the case. We need Chinese goods, they supply us with most everything for cheap, most of our private industry has been relocated there, and with China on our side, then we have an open gateway to diplomacy with NK and are in good standings with India, Pakistan, Mongolia, and Indochina. But China, on the other hand, has all of our private industry located there, the world's largest readily available work force, a debt owed to them that would set them up as the richest nation in the world for decades, the cyber tech to kick our ass and the standing, balls, and power to ignore us and kick our ass in the world political field. If they wanted to, in a week, they could cut off western trade, push out enough arms to arm every man in their country, take control of our private industry based there to make enough goods to keep their people comfortable, re enlist enough to triple their current military size, which would be many times more than the size of the US, and force themselves on Japan, SK, and Taiwan tot he point that they could rely on China. In a week, China could fuck us without firing a bullet and we couldn't do shit. China isn't a threat to the west now, but after our support on the war on terror no longer unites us, we'll be at odds. We saw the beginning of this in the early 90s- with the collapse of the soviet union, all eyes turned to China as their successor in the east- and they were all set up to be. We were at odds in influencing Asia, our relations dropped significantly, and China started building up troops- they expected we'd turn on them and we expected they'd do the same. Then, in 2001, with the 9/11 attacks, the world mostly united and followed our lead when we announced that we would start the war on terror. China was right alongside us in a moment. We can't fight two wars and isolate ourselves from them, so we didn't harm relations, and they didn't become worried because they were out of the focus. Then, China bumped it up a level- not only did they continue being friendly and support us politically in the war, they supported us economically. They did a damn smart thing. They cleared our debts so that we owed them, they offered as much economic assistance as possible for our manufacturers for as cheap as possible so our private industry, and therefore our entire nation, relied on them once our industries jumped on the opportunity for such cheap and efficient work, and then, finally, they began giving into our demands in the UN. They have a grand plan going on. They have us by our balls, and right now they're making us feel real nice, but they have the ability and the freedom to twist, squeeze, and crush all they want if they need to, and they will soon. They are, indeed, a threat to the western world- not an immediate one, but I'd say within 5-10 years, we'll see China emerging as a new super powers, and when they do, thy won't have to compete with us like the USSR did, because they'll pull us right out of the game the moment they want in.
Just took my anti-depressants hope they kick in soon.
You're just making yourself look like an idiot. Some things never change, eh? agree.
The day when saying "I'm religious" is considered stupider than mockingly saying "Death to all-non-Americans" is a sad, sad day.
NK wouldn't last a day against China. What "major damage" you're talking about is non-existent.
North Korea has a pretty big military. Forth largest on the planet.

Would've been better off going to Russia Actually nevermind I bet a lot of them did and we just don't hear about that.
North Korea has a pretty big military. Forth largest on the planet.
Size != effective. Prior to the Gulf War, Iraq had one of the largest militaries in the world, but they got steamroller when hostilities started.
Size != effective. Prior to the Gulf War, Iraq had one of the largest militaries in the world, but they got steamroller when hostilities started.
That's because Iraq was prepared to fight Iranian human wave attacks rather than a modern mechanized force. On the other hand, the North Koreans are prepared to counter whatever technological advantage the US and South may have. While it's very unlikely that they'll defeat a US-SK force, they'll go down after inflicting heavy casualties on them.
Oh man I remember passing through North Korea, the roads are just fucking empty all the time.
The only reason anybody from the west is allowed in North Korea is to go on a guided tour. You can't just pass through North Korea.
So because I decide to affiliate my self with a political party I'm automatically restrained to what the majority of the group believes?
How the hell can you support both Libertarians and Communists? That's like being a member of both the KKK and the Black Panthers.
The word redneck actually was used to describe a man who was hard working. How? Cause after a long days work in the south you get sunburnt on the neck!
The origin of the term redneck is from the coalminers in the rockies. They were forced to work in unbelievably horrible conditions for almost no pay because they constantly owed money to the company. A portion of the coal miners had unionized and went to go free their brethren that were not part of their union. Basically, and epic battle ensued, union versus the coal companies who used hired thugs. It ended with the union being victorious. The union workers tied red handkerchiefs around their necks to tell friend from foe. At that time being called a redneck was a compliment.
How the hell can you support both Libertarians and Communists? That's like being a member of both the KKK and the Black Panthers.
I never said that I supported Communism. Communism is alright, in theory, but it is too easily corruptible.
At that time being called a redneck was a compliment.
So was being called a Republican. :rolleye:
So was being called a Republican. :rolleye:
That depended on where you were from. The democrat and republican parties have shifted a lot from their founding views.
The defectors apprehended by the Chinese were reportedly returned to North Korea, where they face execution.
I thought that was sort of ironic.
