For everyone else on FP - latvians hate russians because of WW2 - USSR wanted to gain Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania peacefully, and Estonia and Lithuania has agreed immediately, while Latvia refused at first, and then USSR has brought its' troops in Riga(there was a military agreement between both) and told them "either you go on our side peacefully or we will destory you and claim the land". And from that time since till the day when Latvia became independent was called an occupation period. Good job Latvia, you are fucking dicks.
It's not like we love having ~300 000 colonists here, stop trying to paint it as if we jumped into USSR's grasp because we wanted to, an occupation is still an occupation, it doesn't matter that the USSR occupied Estonia and Lithuania without firing a shot. It was all just bad decisions and disunity between the Baltic countries that landed them in such situation.

Except our country was feeling way way under USSR flag rather than it does independantly. And russians are half of the Latvian population right now.

Or maybe it's just me, I absolutely hate the country because of how every latvian hates me. I don't know much about other Baltian countries.

So you're speaking for all the people living in Latvia? Not only your russian social circle living there?

It's a common fact that Latvia is fucked up right now for every russian. Can't say anything for latvians.

Define "fucked up"
Define "fucked up"
You know that we are quite off-topic of a disaster and discussing neighbourhood countries?
Not trying to dodge answer or anything, I don't want to get too off-topic.
Come on guys, don't derail this thread. USSR has nothing to do with this.
On other news, apparently a house was being constructed next to the Maxima building. The building materials were moved to the roof of the Maxima building so it wouldn't be stolen. So there's no denying the roof broke from too much weight.
this thread makes me question why i still visit this website
welp, our tv channels decided to make a mourning to this
i can show proof if needed
NEWS - All Latvia based channels have stopped showing commercials during the 3 day period.Massive charities are happening to help the families or children of the lost people.
You know what keeps me bothering? That Latvians are so fucking dumb nationalists that hate Russia and any russian because of the "occupation" during WW2 that they fucking refused to accept a plane full of doctors and equipement from Russia. You could have saved more people you fucking idiots.
thank God I moved from that shithole.
Not everyone is a dumb nationalist.
Did anyone survive? Anyone got more info on this?
Did anyone survive? Anyone got more info on this?
nah, try lurking around BBC, maybe you'll find some info
Did anyone survive? Anyone got more info on this?
There was guy who barely survived being trapped under rubble for 9 hours.
If there didn't found anyone alive after first 24 hours there no way that someone would survive in such cold, injured.
My ex-classmate told me that her grandfather called her but she didn't asnwer the phone(didn't hear it), and he was in that Maxima, but thankfully, he wasn't inside when it collapsed.

You must be a pretty huge dick if every Latvian hates you. I myself have got quite a few russian friends and acquaintances, so do my friends, and we are all latvian. It's people like you, who think that everyone here of the other nationality hates you, that are disintegrating this country from the inside. Fuck off, I am pleased you no longer live in this beautiful country.

Woah, as a kid, I used to regularly freak out about buildings collapsing with me inside them, and goddamn, I just spent like 3 hours in a Maxima today myself, this stuff is really disconcerting.
My heart goes out to the ones lost and grieving.

Really doesn't feel good knowing that the mall I go to most often has a go-kart track and a skating rink on the roof

He is spending time up there I guess.
The rest of the roof collapsed.

The roof is obviously under way too much stress from the load.
They're now just ripping down the walls because it's simply too unsafe to work in.
Some people got braindamaged so hard they were cannibalized because they became potato
Misread it as Latveria, couldn't think of anything but this.
