The fact that this dates as far back as February 2015 leads me to think this is nothing significant. Honestly, I'm more inclined to believe this is somehow related to Frog Fractions 2 than it is to Valve.

My shitposting has gone so far I managed to create 2 spaces on a bingo board
I went back to check if there'd been any progress on this recently and I have to say there is most certainly something going on between a large group of indie devs, the hand symbol has been found throughout several games both on and off steam. all of the games containing the hand symbol also have puzzles that upon completion shows a puzzle piece that joins together across all the indie games.
So far the games have been Crypt of the Necrodancer, Mini Metro, Legend of Dungeon, The Magic Circe, Neon Struct, Mos Speedrun 2, Flickers and Kingdom of Loathing. Nobody has managed to piece together the association all these games have and it's all been a huge mystery so far.
